POSTS STORIES REELS

I made a DIY poster for the @circasurvive shows in Philadelphia next week. I’m beyond excited to travel to Philly with my wife and be able to see a hometown circa show. I’ve wanted to do that for as long as I can remember. We are going the first two nights and then heading down to Kentucky to see Circa at louder than life, among so many other amazing bands. Thinking back I don’t understand how it’s been almost 8 years since I’ve seen my favorite band. Time is such a strange creature. Let’s sing and dance and let it all out together! So many friends are coming from all around for these shows and I can’t wait to be there with you all. If you see me out there then say hey, and I may have one of these for you! I only printed a very limited amount. These are 5x7” on 120# cardstock. The cicada is hand painted with watercolor and ink, the background was created digitally from a photo I took while flying in 2023. The theme is a nod to blue sky noise and the almost name “cicada surprise” swipe right to see some BTS process. I love this band and this safe camp family so much, and it feels like a dream to be able to come back together in this way.
Let’s celebrate! @circasurvive @anthonygreen666 @goodoldkeith @stephenclifford @brendanxtrom @colincirca nickcirca @circafam by @zmandesigns

This work was made over the last few weeks while working on a larger geometric painting. My brain needed a way to express the opposite of measuring and meticulousness. This work gave me a chance to be free and let creativity just flow at will. The name of this work comes from a book I was reading over the past weeks by Neville Goddard called “Feeling is the Secret.” Definitely a read that I highly recommend. It speaks on Neville’s theories around manifestation and the need to feel your wish as if it was already a reality. Whatever you wish, see it as being yours already, and feel that feeling as intensely and clear as you can. Get quiet and sit with those feelings first thing in the morning and right before bed. Times when you are in the hypnogogic state between here and “there” and your mind is most open and at ease. I’ve been trying to remember to do this as much as possible lately. Anyways, I hope you are well and staying creative and inspired doing whatever makes your heart feel free and filled up. Be well and be IN love. If you like this paining feel free to reach out for details. ❤️ more art to release here soon, as always thanks for caring and staying tuned ✌️ by @zmandesigns

“Transformation”
Acrylic on wood
8” X 8”
(2020)

Today I am releasing another artwork from my solo exhibition “Balance & Flow” currently on display at Carbondale Civic Center through August 16th.

Transformation is an homage to the cycles of nature and the resilience of flowers. 🌸 I am kind of obsessed with flowers if you couldn’t already tell. They are so beautiful and appeal deeply to my senses. I love how they reach for the sun in order to grow bigger and stronger, even sometimes bursting through brick or concrete to find the light.

The story of a flower and their need for light to grow seems to mirror our own need for the sun and to find the light even when stuck in darkness. We know the light is out there and we may just have to fight our way through the dark to get to the other side where the sun is shining.

The raindrops in the painting represent washing away the old and bringing in the new. Have you ever seen how the flowers transform and bloom after a good rain? It’s a beautiful sight and always reminds of how there may be dark days, but something beautiful is surely to come of it. Nature is such a beautiful mirror for the soul and spiritual growth. Just look deeply into nature and bloom!

Transformation started as a study for a mural I was dreaming up for Fraser Mountain Mural Festival. Swipe through and see the process for creating this work, and on the last slide you can see the finished mural that was manifested. Transformation became less of a study and more of a stand alone artwork, and the mural took on a new path as well. They both hold the same meaning but sing in different ways.

You can see “Transformation” on display at Carbondale Civic Center through August 16th, as part of my solo exhibition “Balance and Flow”

“Rainbow Bridge”

(2022)

Today I am releasing another artwork from my solo show “Balance & Flow” currently on display at Carbondale Civic Center through August 16th.

This work is inspired by the beautiful artwork of @allysongreycosm

I started painting this during one of the hardest times of my life, while our dog Luminosity was battling cancer. At the time I had no idea that I was envisioning the rainbow bridge where we would meet again one day. The picture above with her and the painting was taken just a few days before she passed.

I stayed with Lu everyday for the last few months of her life, and this painting was there to take my mind off of the heartbreak we were all experiencing.

There are so many memories and lessons wrapped up in this artwork, and it’s a great representation of the joy of knowing that our best friend will be waiting for us on the other side.

Swipe through and see the process of making this artwork. It is a personal favorite of mine and will always mean so much to me. Being inspired by one of my favorite artists and a memorial to our dog, Luminosity Shiva Dodecahedron.

“Guide Us Home”
acrylic and aerosol on canvas
14” X 14”
(2024)

Today I am releasing another artwork from my ongoing solo exhibition “Balance & Flow” currently on display at Carbondale Civic Center through August 16th.

This work is about doors and portals and seeing beyond our current perceived existence. Have you ever looked up at the stars and wondered what other worlds are beyond this one? Of course you have, we all have. It’s almost engrained in us as humans to tell stories of places beyond and imaginary tales of lands far away.

What if a portal opened up in front of you right now….would you walk through it? Actually, we take chances and make decisions everyday that lead us into new futures. These are your portals, so choose wisely. Don’t be afraid to jump in and try something new.

In the middle of this painting you will see an array of stars. These stars represent guidance and exploration. The watchers of the night who have been used for navigational purposes and spiritual tools throughout the ages.

In particular, you will find the constellation (Ursa Minor) that holds the North Star, Polaris, right in the middle of the painting. It has always fascinated me how this star has been used to direct travelers and wanderers, long before technology came around and provided us the compass and GPS.

In the photos above you will see the process of how the painting was made. This one was so fun to create and was the first of the new series I made for this show. I guess I chose to jump through this portal and the rest was history. 🥁😂 anyways, enough rambling for now…..

Thanks for the response on my solo exhibition and showing up with love for all of my work. I appreciate those who have been following my work for years and those who have just arrived. It means a lot to me that you take time out of your day to care what I am creating. Thank you. Namaste. So Much Love.

If you would like to view this painting and other artworks I have created please go see my exhibition on display at Carbondale Civic Center until August 16th. ❤️

Metatron’s Cube
acrylic on canvas
14” X 14”
(2024)

Today I am releasing another painting from my ongoing solo exhibition “Balance & Flow” currently on display at Carbondale Civic Center through August 16th.

This work is titled “Metatron’s Cube” named after the sacred geometric form bearing the same name. I feel like I have been chasing this shape for a lifetime. I am excited to finally have a painting that embodies the way I feel about it.

Metatron’s Cube holds so much energy and has a story to tell for everyone. It is a balance of male and female forms, straight lines representing the masculine and curves representing the feminine. It is a series of 13 circles where all center points interact with one another by connecting through straight lines.

This single form holds the key to so much knowledge. Within the cube you can find all the Platonic solids. These forms have been referred to as “building blocks of the universe” and Metatron’s Cube has been referred to as “a map of creation”

I first encountered this shape watching “spirit science” videos in 2011-2012. This led me down a path of curiosity that ultimately brought me to where I am today. Swipe left to see my earliest rendition of this shape, drawn back when I first found out about it. I’ve been wanting to create this painting for many years and it finally has manifested!

I encourage you to look into sacred geometry and metatron’s cube to find out more. There is endless learning and exploration available with these shapes, whether working with inner or outer reflection.

This work and many others are now on display at Carbondale Civic Center until August 16th.
