As my birthday gift to y’all, I’m finally sharing my short dance film “AGAPE”. This idea emerged after seeing the stunning film “If Beale Street Could Talk” and wanting and seeing space for movement within it. I also wanted to share an additional perspective on Black love(a playful one), while reminding us all that while there are many different kinds of love, in the end we all want our people to be able to live freely, self-actualize and to come home.

To anyone who’s ever pulled an idea out of their brain and brought it to fruition, bravo! It’s not easy but we need art. Art to reflect the times, to find reprieve, to see another perspective, to heal and so much more.

To Percy, Kwasi, Marquisha, Gabe and Naomi thank you so much for bringing your talent and time to this project. Collaboration is where it’s at. 🤎

Shoutout to @experimentaldancemusic festival and @wildsoundtv for giving my film a platform, deeply appreciate the support.

Just (briefly) popped on here to say that I miss this. @mrgeorgejonesjr you created an environment for us to push ourselves while maintaining the JOY of dance. You brought so many of us together and created a community full connection and I’m so grateful for all of it. Trying to re-find a version of this here in London, 🤞🏾I will in due time. This is a side of me I don’t always give permission to come out — mostly out of fear of how it’ll be received. This was me challenging that. Tapping into a more street, hip-hop energy in a way that actually feels like mine. Still figuring out what that looks like but this felt like a start. 👀👠

Feeling incredibly grateful to have been a part of such a powerful and inspiring short film, On a Sunday at Eleven, filmed back in 2023 directed by @aliciakharris_

From the creativity behind the scenes to the passion brought to life on screen, this project has been nothing short of amazing. Huge thank you to Alicia K. Harris and everyone involved for the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful and impactful.

After an incredible run of 60+ film festivals worldwide and receiving 10+ awards and distinctions, it’s amazing to see this film continue to grow.

Catch the broadcast premiere on CBC this Thursday, April 23rd at 11:30 PM as part of Canadian Reflections. If you miss it, it will be available to stream for free on CBC Gem afterwards. 🎬✨

It’s amazing how one year really just flies by. On March 28th 2025, I really just picked up and left my home and a version of my life my behind. Here we are, on the other side of the year and I gotta say I admire anyone who has left their comfort zone before and started over in a new place. The search for the familiar in the unfamiliar.
