WHEN THE RIVER FLOODS

The River series was made between 2013-2021. After researching history connected to the River for several years one thing always stood out: The floods are what shaped our history.

May our River one day flow wild and free. by @zpvisual

WHATS OUR BAND NAME?
(wrong answers only)

The artist and friend, Nani Chacon took this photo of @isabelinpieces and I in front of her mural in Albuquerque NM. Not sure what year it’s from but it was on our book tour for Photographic: The Life of Graciela Iturbide. After we took this pic Isabel said it was our band photo. Tomorrow we are getting the band back together for @latinxkidlitbf streaming live on YouTube tomorrow at 1 pm EST. This is a sessions of young people so if you’re a teacher or librarian or just a lover of kid lit books come hang out with us! LINK IN BIO by @zpvisual

NEW BOOK COVER REVEAL 👀 The Junk Box DROPS March 2027

I’m so excited for y’all to see this one. I had so much fun drawing all the little details of the special box’s journey.

PRE-ORDER today JUNE 23 to get 25% OFF at Barnes & Noble BN.com It’s the last day of the flash sale for premium members.

You can also pre-order from your favorite local book shop.

Where my fleamarket people at?!! 👀

THE JUNK BOX

One kid’s trash is another kid’s treasure.

As the sun rises over a border town, a battered box destined for the junkyard tumbles off a truck . . . and is surprised to land in a bustling flea market. In the past, the box was many things—a lampstand, a wrestling ring, and even a fútbol goal—but eventually it forgot what it truly was. Surrounded by the music of the flea market, the box sees treasures on display and hopes it, too, can be someone’s treasure.
