🎥🎥 Always Two There Are
We first met 9 years ago, and from that first day we’ve never not been coworkers. In fact, part of the reason we later fell for each other was how effortless it was to work side-by-side. (Really, we can spend 12 hours a day together and still actually like each other by the end of it). We’re a greater duo as team, we’re experts at how we compliment each other, and we honestly love how that feels like a superpower for our business.

✈️Fluent in travel
In the past year alone, we’ve ventured in South Korea, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Montenegro, Punta Cana, and Greece. It’s Pure Inspiration to just cross the seas and yet feel like you’ve landed on a completely different planet, the thrill and beauty of life outside your comfort zone.(Ask us sometime about the Icelandic Elvis impersonator we filmed at an Iceland wedding. Oh, and South Korea definitely has the best coffee.)

💍Our elopement changed us
We eloped on the incredible coasts of Oregon (because Prince Edward Island was closed at the time), and our amazing elopement photographer convinced us to turn our wedding into a 6-hr experience. 3 different locations, with “this is us” moments at each. No trends, no “do things just because”. That day shaped our entire business approach, all because our wedding became not just an event, but an experience. For us, the difference is the pictures hanging on our walls that make us feel not just happy, but proud.

👩‍✈️Rebecca’s a certified drone pilot...which means we pull the car over a lot for epic video. We love that this is a whole new “lens” and capability for us videographers to use these days.

🍳 At home, don’t be surprised to find Kyle cooking up something in the kitchen, probably spouting something about how food and the world should always be more delicious than just useful.

😺We have two cats, and if you ever catch Rebecca when she’s editing, there’s a 98% chance you’ll find one of them on her lap (to supervise Rebecca’s work, of course).

We love what we do. Yet despite all the tools people have on their phones, we still believe video memories are one of the most under-used treasures.

Come say hello! What experience are you dreaming up? taken in Black Hills South Dakota by @zsomethingfilms

Sound on!

Sound is power.
Sound holds the rawness of life.

Stephen Crites once said that “Stories are not like monuments that we behold, but like dwelling-places. People live in them.”

Sound is a door into those homes.

This is why your wedding film is so powerful: it’s not just memories in motion, but a doorway into your most important stories.

Kanyen & Patrick, saying you two are adored might be an understatement. What a rich celebration of your perfectly found love, and may that richness follow you for all your years ahead.

On our recent trip to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, I decided to try shooting film for the first time ever! I recently acquired a little Pentax 110 film camera and thought it would be super fun to bring along on our travels.

Needless to say, I’m so glad I did! It was super fun to try something totally new and I absolutely LOVE the look of how these images turned out.

A rare photo of me! Captured by Kyle :)

Kyle, my go to travel subject in all our photos haha!

I actually shot 2 rolls of film on the trip. A color roll and a black and white roll.

I was so happy to capture a cat on the film camera! I do have more cat photos on my digital camera for my full “cats of Amsterdam” series

The canals were so fun to watch and see all the boats coming and going.

and now in color!

Morning coffee! We always have to stop and find a good coffee shop when we travel to a new place. I think we went here like 3 mornings in a row…

Windmills!

More beautiful canals!

Amsterdam is the city of bicycles. It seemed like everyone had a bicycle and there were always more bicycles then cars around.

I love the colors in this photo!

We also took the train to the nearby city of Harlem for a day. Just as beautiful as Amsterdam but a little smaller and less busy. I would love to spend more time here some day!

Such beautiful and colorful buildings everywhere!

This was also in Harlem. A little “castle”. Anytime we go to Europe I always seek out as many castles as I can find… this was the one of 2 that we visited.

Windmill!

They had all these boats covered in flowers that you could book a ride in.

Beautiful old church building in Harlem

A market! One of my favorite things to do on any trip we go on is find an open market where everyone has their little booths selling food, antiques, clothing, handmade items, and more! I am always on the hunt for treasures.

This is our hotel we stayed at (and filmed a wedding at). It was once an old church that was renovated into a hotel. Very unique and beautiful! taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @zsomethingfilms

Had our checked baggage get stuck in Chicago for several days before it finally made it over to us in Amsterdam. A kink in our plans, but we fretted not! We setup for these possibilities with time to adapt and options for backup.

Social media makes international travel romantic, but you’re also taking on some extra risks like delays, lost luggage, and other problems that you then have to manage in another culture.

Most of our travels go smooth and our redundancies may seem excessive, but when problems arise it turns a crisis into an stress-less “we’re ready for this.” Plus, we always hold onto the mantra “Most things really are ‘figure-outable’”
