📍Glasfryn / Pencaenewydd - Wales Many may recall our adventure to Wales in August. I had shared some photos of our trip - and some stress about bringing our lovely Teddy with us in the car for the journey.  This piece has been completed for some time, however I have not had space in my diary to share it! It has been a busy few months... Anyway, we were on a family trip to Wales - the scenery was wonderful. We had a brilliant time amidst beaches and the Italian Vistas of Portmeirion. The towns which we stopped by too, were wonderful and in ways felt like a home from home.  I know that I have shared this before, but the cottage that we had booked, was settled in the estate grounds of the Williams-Ellis historic family home. The setting was beautiful, and the company was great. My first trip to Wales will not be my last.  This Linen Landscape features the estate grounds were we stayed. I would have loved to venture into the house's gardens...from the teasing glimpses that we caught through the house walls, it looked very peaceful and tranquil. We did have plenty of time to venture around the lanes and country roads. In the embroidery you can see a lake - where there must have been a few hundred ducks swimming around each morning. Field patterns where cattle frequently moved during the early hours of the day. Also at the gated entry to the grounds, the donkey's field. Teddy was a fan. Wales, I shall be back. It already seems like such a long time ago.  #linenlandscapes #irishlinen #irishart #irishartist #linenarchitecture by @zv.gibson

I hope that many more have a nosy when they are in having their coffees and catch-ups with friends. Attached in this post are some lovely photos taken by Cat, and my other half Adam. I think you will agree the embroideries certainly look cosied up! You will be able to find a lot of my items for sale until the end of November. Look out for: ♥️ The Star of the Show - The Linen Landscapes 🎉 Linen Landscape Samplers 🎂 Birthday and Greeting Cards ✨ Sashiko / Kogin Artworks ☃️ Festive Greeting Cards If you do not get a chance to head to Park Life - never worry (but you are seriously missing out on their sweet treats), as you can catch my work at the North Down Museum Christmas and Twilight Markets from the end of November. I will also be participating in their Artist's Demo Evening - which is completely new to me! But I am sure it will be great fun! #latenightartbangor #linenartist #LinenLandscapes #irishart #aerialarchitecture by @zv.gibson
🌟 Exhibition Alert!🌟 Will be participating in October's Late Night Art events in Bangor! You will be able to find a selection of my work within @parklifebangor Ward Park. For those who are unfamiliar with the location, you will find the cafe situated between the bowling green and the band stand in Ward Park. If you are heading down to see my linen work , be sure to grab a coffee a cake or maybe even a sausage roll in the cafe - you will not be disappointed! A big thank you to Cat at Park Life for inviting me down to participate in this month's LNA @latenightartbangor ! It is a great opportunity and I cannot wait to see all of the new artwork exhibiting around Bangor as we approach Christmas! Be sure to visit the exhibition between today and the 25th November, before my work heads to the North Down Museum for their Christmas and Twilight markets and exhibitions. #linenartist #linenlandscapes #irishart #irishlinen #aerialarchitecture by @zv.gibson
🎉145th RUA Annual Exhibition This year the RUA are exhibiting my Mount Stewart Landscape Embroidery as part of their Annual Exhibition within the Ulster Museum. Mount Stewart is situated on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down. A special place for many, cared for by the National Trust. The rhododendrons, rose gardens, the lake and cygnets, the Temple of the Winds, Japanese Garden....and a slice of Victoria Sponge as an incentive for your walk... As we saw recently on BBC Springwatch, the grounds are home to vast wildlife and wonderful histories. Mount Stewart has always been close to my heart with frequent family walks and picnics within its grounds. I know that I have mentioned my love for this place before, so I shall not emphasise this further - but it is a pleasure to have the ability to represent Mount Stewart in textile form. The embroidery is completed on Navy Irish Linen (Baird McNutt) and has been framed by Turner Framing in a fine pine and off white mount. The actual Linen Landscape itself represents this time of year, with changing colours, gold to orange foliage, and crisp still Lough tides. I am truly grateful to see my work hung within the RUA Annual Exhibition for a second year. I hope that some of you have a change to visit the galleries and to see the embroidery close up to appreciate the colours. On the RUA website, you can find links to artist's statements where you can read more about their work and appreciate the thought and practice from an entirely different lens. #MountStewart #IrishLinen #RoyalUlsterAcademy #ExhibitingArtist #LinenLandscapes by @zv.gibson

Hetland Hall, Carrutherstown, Scotland Last Thursday we had the pleasure of attending Adam's brother's wedding in Scotland! The day was wonderful - filled with love, happy memories, and lots of laughter. It was an honour to be able to celebrate the happy couple! As a wedding gift, Adam and I decided that we wanted to give the Bride and Groom something that they can remember and hold on to forever. I think that this sentiment reflects a lot of the thoughts, speeches, and wishes for the future which were shared on the day - that relationships are built to last, and that they are a foundation for lifelong memories.  I completed an embroidery of the wedding location - the wonderful Hetland Hall Hotel. The venue was beautiful - and seeing the Groom venture up to the country house doors in a stunning vintage sportscar really helped to set the scene! Mathew - it was a good look for you! The busy-ness of the day took us all by surprise! It has taken us until today to really wind-down, and for the newly-weds, the fun continues as they venture on their honeymoon later this week! Mathew and Kloé, thank you so much for a beautiful day - we hope that this embroidery reminds you of the fun, love, and memories from your wedding! Now to the linen landscape talk! The embroidery is completed on undyed, natural Irish Linen. All threads are cotton, and there are some flecks of metallic strands in there too! Also, framing is completed by the wonderful Wallhangers on High Street in Bangor (who is taking care of a lot of my other pieces just now!). It is a delight to finally share this embroidery! I have had it completed and stored away safely for quite some time now!  Once again, thank you both for a terrific day - and I can not wait to see what the future holds for you both! #linenlandscapes #landscapeembroidery #irishart #irishlinen #aerialarchitecture by @zv.gibson

Exhibition Opening Tomorrow! 📍R Space Gallery, Lisburn 📅 19th September- 16th October 2026 🕐 Tuesday - Saturday, 11-4 by @zv.gibson
🌟 UPCOMING EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟 I’m delighted to announce that the Linen Landscapes (...growing...) collection will be exhibited at R-Space Gallery, Lisburn, opening this Saturday and running until 16th October! ✨ Fittingly located within The Linen Rooms, R-Space provides a wonderful setting for this evolving body of work. The exhibition will feature a selection of embroidered Linen Landscapes inspired by places across Ireland and Scotland, exploring landscape, memory, place and the ways in which we experience and interpret our surroundings through textiles. Alongside the Linen Landscapes, I’ll also be showing a selection of the popular Linen Abstracts, bringing together some of the more abstract explorations of texture, form and landscape within my practice. For something a little different, I’ll also be exhibiting a series of architectural landscape drawings. These have never been exhibited before and offer a glimpse into an earlier part of my practice, while also revealing the architectural processes that continue to underpin my approach to embroidery. Mapping, spatial analysis, observation and the interpretation of place all play an important role in how I develop each textile work — so these drawings provide an insight into the planning and spatial thinking behind the finished pieces. This exhibition also marks an exciting point in the development of the Linen Landscapes collection, with new landscapes continuing to emerge from my research and exploration of places across Ireland and Scotland. 🌿🧵 📍 R-Space Gallery, Lisburn, The Linen Rooms 📅 19th September – 16th October 🗓️ Tuesday – Saturday ⏰ 11am – 4pm If you get a chance to visit, I’d absolutely love to hear what you think! And if you happen to take a photo or two while you’re there, please do send them my way. 📸 #linenlandscapes #irishart #architecture #irishlinen #linenrooms by @zv.gibson
Happy 30th Birthday Ciara!!! Finally I can share this wonderful piece - Castlerock, Co. L/Derry. A gift for my lovely cousin 🌟❤️ Ciara, ages ago, hinted that she would love an embroidery for her birthday present, when I was at a loss of what to get her. She did say that she was keen for gifts which last, have memories, and thst she can keep. I think with an embroidery, this had fulfilled her wishes! The embroidery has been completed for some time, waiting to be packaged and gifted, but it is lovely to have passed it on today 🌟 Have a wonderful birthday. It has been a great day celebrating with you!! ❤️❤️ (*note the last photo- for years (I mean since the beginning of my time) I have tried to blow out Ciara's birthday candles. There are 30 years of photographic evidence. This is this year's initial reaction...🤣) #linenlandscapes #irishlinen #irishart #castlerock #ireland by @zv.gibson

🌟ANNOUNCEMENT🌟 Firstly,I have a very important errand to run later - a trip to the framers. Secondly, last week (before Italy), I signed a contract for a 7-8 week solo exhibition in Belfast next year!!! I will reveal more soon... But there will be new never-before seen embroideries, nearly all of which will be professionally framed...a biggie! It is a pleasure to say that I will be hosting another solo exhibition in my very short career as a textile artist. ...textile hobbyist? But I will be having an opening night, visitors, opportunities to sell my work, and just an occasion to meet people! It is exciting. Keeping my cool! More info to come soon... 🪡 Featured Embroidery - Crom Castle, Co.Fermanagh #linenlandscapes #architecture #textileart #irishartist #irishart by @zv.gibson
