In honor of the opening of @contramarmx in Vegas, we decided to pay tribute to Gabriela Cámara and her team. Well, the truth is we simply were missing all the goodness from the CDMX kitchen. Here is our Amsterdam take on Pescado à la Talla.

Uffff the beautiful memories it evokes. Delicia total 🤤

De Kas is at the top of our Amsterdam favorites.
It’s a vegetable forward restaurant (Michelin Green Star) in a greenhouse nestled in a park in one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The setting is delightful yet Gezellig (cozy) and the flavors are always interesting.

While we have dined many times at De Kas, the menu changes with the garden/seasons, and it’s always fun to bring visiting friends who appreciate the food and wine with pleasure . by @zweats

Back at Eeuwen for lunch this week. We’ve been a few times since opening in May, and the new menu has us even more sold. It’s approachable while still delivering on quality – great for a casual lunch, dinner, a special occasion, or whenever you want something good.

We love the local and regional focus here: bread from Fort Negan, Dutch flat oysters, pork from Baambrugge, Blauwklaver cheese, Pierre Marcolini chocolate from Belgium. Real respect for what’s nearby.

Highlights: A stellar beef tartare (we always order it, this one delivered), homemade agnolotti with velvety morel sauce and charred greens that was probably our favorite dish, perfectly crisped chicken with a bright lemon and thyme sauce that was both comforting and elegant, and a surprising smoked risotto with radicchio and Blauwklaver (Dutch blue cheese) that balanced sweet and bitter beautifully.

The Pierre Marcolini chocolate mousse was excellent, and the vanilla pistachio dessert was light yet with intense flavor and crunch.

The dining room was buzzing at lunch, staff were friendly and gave great wine recommendations. And if you love art and good design, you’ll love the chic space. They’re doing a lovely job showcasing what the region has to offer with a thoughtful, hyper-seasonal approach. Until next time.

Christmas in Lausanne 🇨🇭
We didn’t quite capture every meal but this is a good summary. What’s winter in Switzerland without fondue and raclette… we had both. The best we have had in a long time, but required some travel up the mountains to find the good stuff. There was Christmas cookie making by W.
And we were treated to a few amazing at-home-meals by W’s Papa who happens to be a chef. That yuzu, wasabi, panko crusted wild caught turbot was magic ✨ Not to mention the Knödel and red cabbage for Christmas dinner. by @zweats
