Flying over Death Valley, looking north. Smaller alluvial fans on the right, eastern side are linked to small catchments on the footwall; larger alluvial fans on the western side have larger and taller catchments on the hanging wall of the Black Mountains Fault Zone. Flow accumulation draped over shaded relief, derived from USGS LiDAR data. Darker blue = larger drainage area draining to that point. #deathvalleynationalpark #tectonics #alluvialfan #geomorphology #geology by @zzsylvester

One more set of photos from Mesquite Dunes. This area is a bit further away from the main parking lot so you are unlikely to see anyone and the dunes and interdunes are intact and gorgeous. #deathvalleynationalpark #sand #bedforms by @zzsylvester
