Into our own little cloud of a getaway in Flagstaff 🙏❤️🥳 by @1breath1shot

Like anything …. It’s a process …
It took alot of courage to start again …
To have courage … means you can accept failure … I’m accepting that this piece won’t make it to my art show I’m manifesting … and I’m very ok with that 🥰 .. by @1breath1shot

I mean if you’re going to embark on a practice that’s going to bring you closer to who you really are on the inside… you may as well do it in beautiful places 🙏 by @1breath1shot

Nobody’s going to take you there.
It’s always going to be YOU.
Good days bad days. ALL YOU. by @1breath1shot

The practice continues.
“Coach” and I have dipped into the mental side of the game recently … a part of it I never really had training, time, or reason to give it more than a few minutes worth. Until now. It’s a part of the game that requires more patience and discipline than just smashing balls at the range or putting balls until the sun sets.

Calculated decisions based in knowledge rather than assumptions is a game I am being introduced to and it’s wild!

It’s not making me perfect but it cools the nervous system down enough to allow for a swing that matches the plan in my creative brain :)

Do what you with that jargon but I’ll continue to share as the wisdom keeps coming through here an maybe it’ll all make sense at some point for us both!

My last tourney was an amazing lesson in it all … I hit some of the worst shots of my life, took myself out of the competition by hole 5. The lesson was only beginning there however, hahah my cart died on hole 7 and I walked 2 holes slugging all my gear in the sun until a new cart arrived! It felt similar to a Vipassana training session with minimal “luxuries” to access the truth faster! We got there!

I finished strong and didn’t cry so that was a win after carding an 87 and almost finishing dead last …. Chin up, lessons noted and digested, compared and contrasted with past and new JZ out there … next 3 rounds were 73,74,73 respectfully…

It wasn’t tournament nerves that caused bad swings ultimately I never really felt nervous over the ball … it was tournament vibes that took me off my planning and thus was never fully committed more often than not!

Even those last 3 rounds I was still just scraping the surface of this new discipline.. but I was scraping at it and peeling away these old layers of rushed, emotional and defensive behaviors and slowly ushering in new, cleaner, calculated committed plays that allow the club to do its thang! 🥳🤓🔥 by @1breath1shot

This is why ….
What’s to gain by getting up at 4a ?

While the tri-bike and goggles take a break, an older passion has been re-awakened ….

My dad got me into golf when I was 14 and was hooked right away. Played high school golf on the team then on and off through my 7 years in Europe … and when Kerri suggested moving back to Arizona 20+ years ago it was no brainer because I could play year round 😂

I proved quite a bit to myself during my 50th year alive with 3 triathlons last year including Alcatraz, Maui volcano loop and Ironman Portugal and I’m now ready to change gears …

Leveraging some local teachers and AI for training I’m going to step into a competitive Amateur mindset and continue learning about myself through sport / game / practice ….

Tomorrow it begins … a qualifier event for an Arizona event …

For the next year or so I commit to self study and practice and to put myself on the line with others much better than me to test it all out….

2 goals … to enter qualifiers for Us Open and Us Mid Amateur…. Gulp!

Welcome aboard, glad you’re here ..
Next on the number one tee …. by @1breath1shot
