🇨🇭✨ Switzerland, you’ve stolen our hearts! ✨🌍

👏 22 women, and the BEST hosts we could have ever imagined.

Our first-ever Ladies AllRide Switzerland retreat was nothing short of magical. The riding, the views, the FOOD, the friendships… honestly, words can’t even capture how special it all was. 💫

We put our trust in our dear friends @anitagehrig and @caro_gehrig, and wow… they delivered beyond our wildest dreams.

🏔️ From the stunning trails to the five-star food at @flemlodge, to all the little touches that made us feel so cared for - this trip was unforgettable. 🥰

Our theme was simple: bonding on bikes. 🚵‍♀️💞And that’s exactly what happened. We left with stronger legs, fuller hearts, and friendships that will last a lifetime. 🙌

This is just the beginning. The first of MANY Switzerland retreats to come… and we cannot wait to go back. 🇨🇭💚

About last weekend...
I am still feeling quite speechless, but feel the need to try and share some of the pure gratitude and sheer elation I feel for having been warmly welcomed to the @ladiesallride Coach Summit of 2022.

There were so many very important lessons. From getting Tips, Tricks, & extra Techniques for teaching skills on the bike to Repolishing & Elevating vital coaching skills that will transcribe across multiple disciplines, all with Wonderful Reminders on how to more actively be the supportive human I strive to be.

It is an incredible treat being around so many badass ladies you look up to who not only take you under their wing, and lift you up, but also push you to be the best version of yourself. There was even the important and timely reminder to never be satisfied sitting still and to consistently have a Growth Mindset. 🌱✨

It felt like being home & I am so excited to have started this coaching path because I’ve never felt more like I was doing something I was meant to do. It’s so so so important to lift each other up and I am so happy to be a part of it. A huge thank you to every single coach attending for every tiny to big nugget of wisdom over a shared passion! Progression, NOT Perfection ♥️‼️

Equally as important, it was just an Exceptionally FUN time!!! Remembering how to just play and be vulnerable in trying new things but then be absolutely ridiculous in a way that sends you into silly giggle fits with friends. 🖤

Extra thanks to Coach Annie for her psychology expertise, @kelseykelleycarson for opening up her home pump track for all of the playing + bonfire fun and @cogwild for providing such expert shuttling on Sunday and of course @liz_n_liza + @ali_halp for a mastery of planning.

Last weekend was a doozy.

Saturday’s race started off great with a backwards Le Mans that got me into a good position, but then everything went spiraling downhill when my chain tensioner went slack and my chain was rendered useless. In the pit, we learned that plastic daisy chains do not do the trick to hold a tensioner in place… On the 2nd to last lap I was rescued by @jake.o.campbell who ran to meet me in the pit with my zip ties so the last lap and a half were manageable.. I feel lucky that I was able to finish the race! [But still bummed that it all went so wrong ( 📸 6).]

Sunday was Much better, and even more fun! I was equipped with 3 zip ties (overkill?), a fun costume, and there was a real life GOAT🐐! I got to have a fun battle with @yearofthebike (where I was crushed) on my redo of the course! Also, Mario might be my favorite costume so far because it definitely got the best heckles I’ve ever received. 🥈 never felt so good.

The biggest reason I fell in love with cyclocross? The MUD! Last weekend’s @cyclocrosscrusade was absolutely jam-packed with struggles in mud and I really enjoyed every pain-staking pedal or sloppy footstep I got away with in it (even if my face didn’t show it!)

We went from teeth-chattering-cold to crusty caked-on-mud over smiles in a hectic 40ish minutes and with the support of multiple people (and a bit of luck), I found myself on the top step in Women’s SS too! Huge thanks to @bird8bigbird for letting me last minute borrow his 18T cog, @dirtjr for having and lending the tools, @iraryancycles for the speediest gear change I didn’t even see while juggling multiple other responsibilities and very importantly @shellz_yeah for following me around the entire course and popping up in random places to heckle me on (which was highly motivating) while multitasking to take many of these awesome photos! (Thank you thank you 🙏🏼! ) & then I got to cheer on my teammates!!

Well, now that it’s been a whole week (and I’m still finding bruises pop up in random places) I should probably express how much fun I had last weekend: WAYY Too much! Icing on the cake was managing that last Step on SS Women on Sunday! (Even after a rough 1/2 race on Saturday.)

@bridgecitycx ‘s course was as painful as it was wonderful! Filled with playful bits, grueling mud/sand stretches, some stairs to set your legs on 🔥 and so many decisions to make! I love a great course that keeps your brain as occupied as your legs! It’s the best part about cyclocross.

Thank you @bridgecitycx, @sellwoodcycle , @oregonbikeracing and everyone who helped make this dreamy weekend come true. Also thanks to @oaksamusementpark for letting us play bikes!

'Twas quite a weekend and I'm still floating!
I feel extremely lucky to have gotten to race bikes on a fun woodsy course, with some fast lady shredders and a series of fortunate events landed me in 🥇. Super grateful for my body to have felt good enough to race, for the ability to borrow an awesome SS bike and to have been supported/cheered on by awesome friends/teammates who also helped make it happen.

Thank you to Heiser Farms for hosting and Harvest CX for all the hard work.

Right before all the Fit really hit the Shan with mandatory Self Isolation, I fortuitously signed up for The Picky Club with @pickybars
Great Nutrition with Great Tastes at a Discount that’s Delivered to my home from a Great Company!

Given the amounts of types of snacks during these strange times (i.e. morning snack, went-for-a-walk snack, solo-cycling snack, afternoon-snack, pre-work-out snack, post-work-out snack, after-dinner/dessert “snack”) it’s good to feel prepared.
