Past and present things !!! You can now bid on some beautiful pieces that have been donated or made by brilliant activists and supporters across the globe, link on story. My friend made a beautiful documentary I had the pleasure of being in called jailed for caring about the imprisonment of political protesters in the Uk. You can watch on the account tagged. Slow marches this week, I understand the frustration and I understand the anger but this is nothing compared to what is coming and we will continue. On the 16th there will be a discussion and screening of my dads documentary “The Pipe” that follows the story of a community in Ireland almost destroyed by a Shell pipeline, free tickets on Eventbrite. We’re going to Glastonbury !!! Look out for us at the speakers forum and green fields for talks, info and sign up forms (: Destroy boys invited us to their gig and let us speak before the show, it was a blast and great to see solidarity from across the seas <3 And last but not least on Monday I will be speaking on a panel after the showing of “Hot in here” in Camden. A theatrical and musical performance of how people taking action in the Uk deal with loss of their loved ones, hope, and civil liberty. “In the back of a police van at a climate protest, three people’s lives unexpectedly collide”. Tickets on story, mwah <3 by @6.amy

As it hits 1 year since I climbed on top of an oil tanker with hundreds of other legends and started full time activism I like to look back on the year its been. Doing this sort of work has given me a new meaning to life I never thought existed. As someone who has struggled with mental health issues for years finding out that fighting for my life personally wasn’t the battle I was facing. Young people over the past few decades have been killed and burnt out at the hands of modern day capitalism and “business as usual”. This idea of constant growth and capitalising of the loss of others despite the cost has been pushed by our government and we cant blame ourselves for feeling like were “crazy” or “mental” because the system built for the 1% doesn’t suit us. My coping mechanisms that stemmed from these mental health issues were things that not only distracted me from my own life but from the life I was told I was forced to live. A life that is going to cause the death of many and already has. The fight for the climate movement isn’t just about the bees and trees anymore, its about people finally fighting back for a future that is fit and suitable for everyone. Climate justice is racial, housing, gender and human justice. As a UN human rights expert once said “There can be no meaningful solution to the global climate and ecological crisis without addressing systemic racism, sexism and particularly the historic and contemporary racial legacies of colonialism and slavery”. We must understand that this fight isn’t the same for everyone, depending where you live, what gender was assigned to you at birth or the way you make your income can have a huge effect on the action we take. 🦋Continue reading in comments by @6.amy

Wow what an amazing week. I always get mixed feelings after events like these, as I feel so lucky and happy to have spent the past few days in Glasgow doing so many amazing things and going to such inspiring talks, panels and discussions hosted by the people. During my time at cop I also had the privilege to meet with so many groups and individuals from across the globe and but got bombarded with waves of sadness as I was reminded why im meeting these people. I was meeting them as the government and cop had failed to give a platform to the people, people who are suffering the worst effects of climate change while being the least responsible. These people have lost so much due global north continuing to capitalise off their losses and continuing to make false promises and empty deals at one of the few chances we had to make a difference. There shouldn’t have to be 26 of these. Me and thousands of others took to the streets, got arrested and didn’t shut up for the week due hypocrisy shown by cop. It has come out that at least 500 fossil fuel lobbyists have been admitted to cop representing over 100 fossil fuel companies. Cop claims that activists and marganilized groups cant enter the conference due to a number of capacity reasons while hundreds of fossil fuel companies flood the venue. Promoting the interests of big polluters, shell pb etc, the exact companies that have brought us where we are. Thats why Monday past me and 9 others blocked a cop conference dinner from happening in Maryhill, a conference due to discuss loss and damage. Loss and damages these exact companies make happen every single day and that have not been planned to compensate. These people have caused the death of thousands of people and the loss of thousand of kilometres of land and get to go into a fancy private pre paid dinner while some of the most amazing activists that have sacrificed everything to work day and night to fight this cause cant even get a seat at the summit.
