Three years ago today we literally stopped oil — how’s that for an April Fool’s bit?

1. Team huddle / 3am / 1.5 hrs of sleep / blistering April cold / gentrified docklands of East London. Truly felt like the arse end of nowhere. Had to get the DLR to the end of the line (Gallions Reach?) to find this bloody Airbnb safehouse. Someone’s mum thought they got kidnapped.
2. Around 5pm that afternoon — moments before my arrest. The officer was convinced I was going to dive in front of the cars with the heights team to stop them from reaching the tankers further back and arresting my friends. Maybe I was. The whole ordeal of my arrest played out like a Monty Python episode.

4. The first three oil tankers stopped by our affinity group just as they were leaving Navigator Oil Terminal, the busiest fuel distribution centre in the South East. Up to 50% of the region’s vehicle fuel is distributed from this site.

8. @essexpoliceuk first responders — didn’t quite know what to make of all this.

16. Petrol stock levels at filling stations in the East, South East and London down to ~20% after 10 days of brave individuals physically getting in the way of the oil coming out of the distribution sites. @borisjohnsonuk & co. holding daily COBRA meetings to try mitigate the disruption. A barrage of civil injunctions soon to follow.

@just.stopoil waves its final goodbye at the end of this month. Orange banners shuffling down Parliament Square one last time. It will probably be pretty cathartic. I might cry. I hope the weather is nice. Come along if you fancy?

Saturday 26 April, Parliament Square.

It’s been a bit over a year since I started working at Big John’s , and over two years since I started spending a good amount of time in deptford - and both bring me much joy :) I get to be a part of this wonderful community with its great people and now it’s my first time putting on an event within it.

One of the regulars at John’s aka @harrison_guyett (who will also be playing on Saturday!) noticed that I play quite a bit of reggae&Dub at the bar and wondered why not just bring out a turn table and some good speakers? And so we are! This Saturday 1-6 pm we open the doors of big John open wide for 5 hours of great music and tasty drinks! There’s also Deptford market that day so even a better reason to come down.

It’ll be my first time djing 🫣 with the help of my good friend @kai.wh who will be on the deck while I serve some drinks :)

See you then! <3

6 months of hitch hiking around the world ! 🌎👍

I still can’t believe how far I’ve come, when I think about it it really makes me happy. The world is much much safer than we are led to think, I know that very well. But even I surprise myself seeing how it is less rigid than we might think.

There are so many smiles to have and see, so many hands to give and take... Everywhere around the world people are looking to help each other and that is heart warming.
It must not stay a quick rush that warms your guts a short moment though. It should not be consumed like so many other things. We must keep it in mind at all times, everyday, as it starts by trusting a stranger. It is built on mutual curiosity and preserved with uninterested help and attention.

Thank you to all the beautiful people I have met all over the world 🤗❤️

I am really proud to present this video as I am proud to have come this far hitch hiking. They are both my biggest projects in both Categories haha.

Please do comment your thoughts, it was a lot of work I hope you enjoy ♥️

Thank you for watching in anycase ,🙏♥️
