For years I have been carrying a creative flame that took a long time to find its form. Lately I have been learning to give myself the space to be still.

This is the beginning of @resonant.source . A place to share the work, honor the process, and stay accountable to both.

I hope something here resonates.

Ludovico’s music has been an important anchor in my life. Today I saw him perform for the first time. I left reminded of the power of simplicity, and full of inspiration.

Last fall, I planted some daffodil bulbs @llinaseduardo was giving away. I tucked them into a couple of tree pits along a busy avenue. Digging wasn’t easy—the soil was compacted, the quality questionable, and trash scattered all around.

I’m fascinated by the idea that, in order to bloom in spring, daffodils must be planted in fall. Above ground, it seems like nothing is happening, but underground, the bulbs are expanding and strengthening their root system to withstand the coming winter before the ground freezes.

With winter comes dormancy, and for the daffodil, that cold is essential. It triggers an internal hormonal shift that quietly sets the stage for bud development.

Then spring arrives with its warmth, and the bulbs push up shoots and pours all the stored energy in splashes of yellow and traces of green.

This change in seasons made me think of the importance of gathering strength and nutrients during times when we are surrounded by stressors. Quiet growth.

Seeing these flowers bloom, with everything going on in the world, gives me hope.

Change begins in quiet places, when we make room and put in time.
