filled a house on the hudson river with twenty members of our wedding party for a joint bach. it was a silly and sweet celebration of all the steadfast love that nourishes us individually and as a partnership. there was consistent grilling, balloon animals, pie, river gifts, a murder mystery, karaoke, grass jelly, signature drinks, and magic of all kinds. i shot manual on my 35 mm for the first time in a couple of years and ofc the film was expired and full of personality but i’m cherishing it all and happy to share 💘 here’s to exchanging vows next month

Part two: In this studio, I’ve rolled on the floor, leapt from the shelves, laughed until I cried, cried from exhaustion, bled from my hands and knees, made thousands of errors, made it work a thousand times more, learned so many lessons, human and artistic alike, and watched the sunrise- delirious and drunk on the kind of sculpture high that comes with working all through the night with my favorite people from within the tall windows of Decatur St. Growing up in the woods, I’ve always wanted to return to nature, so the city was hard for me. Over time, I’ve learned to love its wild energy. The diversity, the foods, languages, philosophies and different kinds of people it brings together. I’ve met so many amazing individuals and I’ve grown to become a brand new human being, in ways I am immensely grateful for. But the call of the woods has been getting louder. Stepping down from my position as Director of Sculpture has been a difficult decision, as I needed to know that the program I have put so much of myself into would be cared for by individuals I trusted, who would love and invest in it with the same passion as I do. That’s where Sam Davis and Maia Williamson come in. Not only are they among the top sculptors in the nation right now, they are some of the hardest working, most passionate and positively earnest individuals I have ever met and I am grateful to call them my peers and even more, my friends. I trust them with the sculpture program the way I trust them with my life: wholly and completely. (…continued in part three)
