Incredible weekend at the @chevronhoustonmarathon , lots of smiles and love in one weekend. I got to participate in a world class field where several records got taken down and I came out with a new person best. Excited to see what else my body and mine will allow me to achieve this year.

Sunday Funday with the fam @houhalf! 😁🔥

Today was a tough day on the course but I enjoyed myself. Not the outcome I was expecting in my racing but I thank God, learned my lesson and heading back to work with a few more tools in the kit.

Had the pleasure and privilege of getting interview on live TV @kprc2 by @kprc2rechelle and it was a blast. Thank you @ricooper43 for the support and guidance, bless to have you on my corner.

Thank you to my cousins for driving from Dallas to see me run. Thank you to everyone who's been a Lu support system, I really appreciate you all. I'm definitely spoiled with support and love. Love you ❤️🫶🏾

Every great athlete has a “first.”

This was our athlete’s first USATF National Championship, the 8K Road Championships and we made the journey from Houston, TX, to Kingsport, TN to prepare him for the longer distances he’ll race as an incoming college freshman.

The trip was about much more than racing. We road-tripped through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, shared a home-cooked meal with family in Knoxville, explored a new city, enjoyed a shakeout run and dinner with @brookeelisenelson, attended the elite athlete dinner, and learned what it means to compete on a national stage.
Race day was the perfect ending. He broke 26 minutes, ran 25:53, and won his age group. 🥇

At The Lutenants Training Group, we’re not just developing faster runners, we’re building confident athletes through experiences, education, and opportunities they’ll remember for a lifetime.

This is only the beginning. 🏃‍♂️💙

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible!

People often ask, “What do you do in your free time?”

Outside of coaching and work, I spend my time training, hosting Track & Field Days for kids with disabilities, and mentoring young athletes about training and competing at a high level.

That’s why Team Hoyt means so much to me. It represents inclusion, opportunity, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to experience the power of sports.

I’m running the Sydney Marathon in just 29 days on August 30th! 🇦🇺🏃🏾

I’m only $592 away from my $3,500 fundraising goal. If you’re able, a donation or share with friends and family would mean a lot and help me finish strong.

I don’t normally post things like this, but for the past week I’ve been pretending to be okay.

I’m still in shock and struggling to process the loss of a young man I had the privilege of watching grow up. I was blessed to be ANT’s (Ares’) Gent sponsor and track coach. During these past few years, I watched him grow, mature, and accomplish some amazing things.

Today, I thank God for the gift of his life and for the time I got to spend with him. Though I don’t understand why his journey ended so soon, I trust that God does.

My heart breaks for his family, friends, teammates, line brothers and everyone who loved him. Please keep them in your prayers.

Rest easy, ANT. Your impact was greater than you know, and your memory will live on in all of us. Until we meet again. ❤️🙏🏽 by @_1king_lu

I’m reaching out because I’m raising $3,500 to support the The Hoyt Foundation, an organization that helps individuals with disabilities build confidence, self-esteem, and opportunities through inclusion in sports, schools, workplaces, and everyday life.

The Hoyt Foundation carries forward the inspiring legacy of Dick Hoyt, Judy Hoyt, and Rick Hoyt, whose story continues to inspire people around the world.

As a runner and coach, this mission is close to my heart because I believe everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy, community, and opportunities that sports can provide.

A thank you note to Lu!

@_1king_lu was our race day pacer for the Black Sub 3 group, and he was exactly what we needed. Calm on splits, locked in on strategy from coach, and fully invested in getting as many of us to sub-3 as possible.

He kept us together, checked in when things got tough, and helped us hold on longer than we thought we could. He helped us get into that dawg mentality!

He’s a 2:30 marathoner, a Houston-based youth track coach, and someone balancing big running goals with a full time job. He folded right into our group like he’d always been part of it.

We couldn’t have imagined this weekend without him. Thank you, Lu! 🙏🏾

You take 12 personalities, unsure of what the next 24 hrs would hold. You ask them to run for something more important than themselves. What do you get? Grit! Selflessness! & a relentless pursuit to win from start to finish. We ran for each other and sought every opportunity to compete. We honored the sport and that’s satisfactory. CHECK M8 ♟️
