The question I get the most lately is, “do you do virtual appointments?” and “what is it like? What does it include?” So, here’s a breakdown on how I work with my patients who aren’t able to make it into clinic.
I decided to start doing virtual appointments, because I noticed that my in person patients would see fantastic results…☝🏻WHEN they did their homework and took their herbs, because wellness is 90% daily habits, diet, and lifestyle. If I needle you once a week, it doesn’t undo or resolve the other 6 days.
The goal is to give my patients tools for healthy, lifelong habits that they can easily implement into their everyday life. It’s not about radical change, but making small changes everyday that make a big difference.
If you’re interested in learning more about TCM foods and herbs and how to incorporate it into your daily meals, we should work together!

What a week! People often ask me, “what does acupuncture help with?” Short answer is, “A LOT.” The symptoms you experiencing are often a branch to some sort of internal disharmony or pattern. Two people may be experiencing constipation but their treatments look completely different, because TCM and eastern medicine works to treat you as an individual and not a list of your symptoms.
If you’re interested in seeing how acupuncture, herbal medicine, and TCM nutrition can help you and fit into your life, my booking link is in bio 🌿
Both in person and virtual sessions 💫

The Autumnal Equinox, qiū fēn or thu phân, is the time of the year when the days and nights are equal lengths and yin and yang are in balance. During this time it’s important to prioritize rest AND movement equally. Autumn is lung season in TCM, so it’s recommended to eat white colored foods like pears and pungent foods like garlic to support lung health. Seasonal fruits/veggies include chestnuts, apples, pears, olives, and papaya. Emotionally, this is the time to let things go and shed emotional baggage, just like the tree sheds its leaves for fall. If you’re interested in how you can live and eat with the seasons and how TCM can fit into your life, my booking link is in bio ✨

When you stop accepting that pain is normal, you open yourself up to getting your body to a good place. Chronic pain is not normal, you shouldn’t have to live with it. Constipation is NOT normal, you should feel empty again. Constantly clenching and being tense is not normal, your body needs help letting go. Having no appetite is not normal!!! You should enjoy your food!! Brain fog is not normal, you should go through life with mental clarity! Performing your best and feeling your best is achievable.
I’m here for your wins and your losses and to help support you through them to get you feeling like yourself again.

Thomas an I have bee LIVING in Asian squat hahahaha
As we move out of the hot summer into the drier autumn, the diet should also change. Báilù or Bạch lộ is the time when it is important to support digestion and prioritize hydration with the help of TCM foods.
These are easy, picky toddler friendly picks that help my family eat with this new season effortlessly. Most are instant or easy to cook, because I do not need one more dish to wash.
I AM OBSESSED with those frozen mung bean and potato pancakes and so is my toddler. Would 10/10 recommend if you have an H mart by you.
If you’re interested in how to incorporate TCM into your life, food is the easiest way to start.
✨ Book with me in person or virtually to see how small changes can make big impact.

It feels like the seasons changed overnight in SoCal. We’re entering Báilù or Bạch lộ: The White Dew.
This season is the transition from summer to autumn, as the season transitions, so should our diet and lifestyle. It is a reminder how deeply connected we are to seasonal rhythms 🍂
TO DO:
✨ preserve yang energy (so doing LESS (on Labor Day lol))
✨ prioritizing foods that support digestion
✨ staying hydrated
✨ getting regular acupuncture
As the weather becomes drier, it affects skin and throat health.
Getting regular acupuncture during this time can help boost immunity, support lung health, and help resolve any past emotions from the summertime.
TO THINK:
💧The dew also brings mental changes. This is the beginning of the LUNG season of grief, and it is important to let go of things that no longer serve us to usher in the new pure things ahead
TO EAT:
🥡 Eating “Ten White Foods” (Shi Yang Bai, 十样白):
• ten kinds of white-colored foods, such as pears, white sesame, and lotus seeds, because they are symbols for health and longevity.

If you’re interested in eating and living with the seasons, we should work together 🤝

Everyone had tight upper traps and TMJ pain this week.
People often tell me that they don’t need acupuncture because they aren’t in pain, but one of those people had jaw tightness and clicking that he had been living with for 10 years and had grown used to. Living with and getting used to pain isn’t normal, and your body should feel like a good place.

what’s in my grocery cart (Asian market edition) as a TCM doctor and SUPER PICKY toddler mom 🤝
My toddler is growing pickier everyday and this week has refused to eat any meat, and so I’ve had to get creative with how he gets his protein and essential nutrients. Ensuring that he is eating enough feels like another full time job 🫠.
Here are some things that I buy regularly for both him and our family to easily incorporate eastern medicine nutrition into everyday life.
If you’re interested in TCM and how it can be easily woven into your meals, we should work together 🤝

chù shǔ 处暑 or end of the hot summer, is a time where the weather starts changing hot to cold, things get dryer, and the change also change within our bodies.
It’s important at this time to nourish yin and hydrate yourself and your skin, embrace gentle morning movements to support the lung, and sleep as much as you can because time change is coming 😭.
Herbs like chrysanthemum or Ju Hua (菊花) can help gently clear heat and clear the eyes, combined with pear and goji berries is a perfect late summer yin tonic.
Tremella or Yin Er (银耳) snow mushroom is a yin tonic that supports healthy skin hydration, supports the lung, and boosts immunity and becomes so easy to incorporate into your life via a skin mist.

If you’re curious about living and eating with the seasons

In TCM, 头昏 tóu hūn or brain fog is rarely a brain problem. We treat the root cause and not the individual symptom; meaning we’re not only lifting the fog, but also balancing ALL of you.
TCM, acupuncture, ear seeds, and Chinese herbal medicine have all been studied to be effective in alleviating brain fog, improving memory/focus, and cognitive function.
Come and clear your head ✨🧠
