What an incredible week at the FCA Home Office in Kansas City!

I’m leaving encouraged, challenged, and reminded that ministry is always about people, not programs. This week was filled with discipleship, leadership, and time spent learning from faithful men and women who are committed to seeing coaches and athletes transformed by the Gospel.

I’m grateful for every new friend I made from all around the country, every conversation, every lesson, and every opportunity to grow. I’m Excited to bring what I’ve learned back home and continue serving our local community with renewed purpose.

Thank you, FCA, for investing in us.

I’ll be the first to admit, sometimes I question whether I’m qualified to do the things I’m doing.

Coaching, speaking, ministry… there are moments when I wonder if I’m really the right guy for it.

But I’m thankful God doesn’t expect me to have everything figured out.

I still have a lot to learn, and I’m going to make mistakes along the way.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t be used by Him.

At the end of the day, I don’t want people to see how great I am.

I want them to see how great Jesus is!!

Read 2 Corinthians 12:9

Being a Commanders fan ain’t for the weak, but we’re not new to this were true to this..

All that football just to end in a tie is crazy work lol.

But it did get me thinking about how easily we let things we can’t control mess with our peace. I’m definitely guilty of it.

Life isn’t always going to go how we want it to, but that’s why who we’re building our lives on matters.

I’ve had moments where I knew I was wrong… and somehow still wanted God to work on the other person.

That one will humble you.

Sometimes there doesn’t need to be an explanation.

No “but.” No reminding them what they did first.

Sometimes I was just wrong.

I’m learning that following Jesus means being willing to humble myself, own my part, and make it right.

Sometimes the next step isn’t another prayer.

It’s an apology.

I’ll be the first to admit I’ve done this.

I’ve helped somebody, showed up for them, checked on them… and then caught myself wondering why they didn’t do the same for me.

That’s when I have to check my own heart.

Was I really serving them out of love, or was I quietly expecting something back?

That one got me.

I don’t want to love people with a scoreboard in my hand.

I’m learning that being teachable means being willing to listen before I defend myself.

Not every criticism is right. But if my first response is always an excuse, I might be protecting the very thing God is trying to change.

Sometimes growth starts with a conversation we didn’t want to hear.

Your example speaks louder than your advice.

People are paying attention to how we live, especially when life doesn’t go our way.

I’m asking myself this question too: Does the way I live actually point people toward Jesus?

You don’t have to be perfect. But you should be intentional.
