If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed trying to learn photography online, you’re not alone.

Most people start by doing exactly what I did in 2020-2021: watching endless YouTube videos, Googling settings, trying things, getting frustrated, trying again.

It can take years of trial and error to piece everything together.

That’s exactly why I created Small Business Photography.

Inside this course, I’ve condensed six years of learning and professional experience into six clear modules that walk you through:

• Understanding your DSLR or mirrorless camera
• The camera settings that actually matter
• Photographing products, people, food and interiors
• Capturing shops, venues and landscapes
• Editing your photos easily in Lightroom
• Sharing your work strategically online

Whether you’re a small business owner wanting to create your own imagery, or someone exploring photography more seriously, this course gives you the foundations and confidence to start capturing beautiful images.

And because it’s launch week, there are a few early bird bonuses available until Monday:

• 20% off the course
• My entire Lightroom preset collection (valued at $250+ AUD)
• A 1:1 coaching session with me (valued at $480 AUD)

If you’d like the enrolment link, just comment or DM ‘CAMERA’ and I’ll personally send it through to you 🤍 or head over to to our profile for the link.

(If you’re on the fence or think you’ll wait for the next discount - we’re NEVER running a sale on it again & it’s going into $USD later this year, so this is the lowest price it’ll ever be!)

—

The course includes 6 modules, 40+ lessons, a 125+ page workbook, swipe files and presets — and lifetime access so you can learn at your own pace, along with monthly group coaching.

Doors are now open ✨

Two of my favourite captures from Norway 🇳🇴 a little sommerhus for lunches, and a cosy moment peering out at it through a window.

We originally had plans to travel again this year, but things inevitably had to shift, so 2027 will be the year we finally go on our ‘megamoon’! All the best things are so worth waiting for. 🤍

And from a photography perspective, each time I go on a trip I feel like I take so so many photos — and I love reliving moments through them! But then I also think of all the others I wish I’d taken.

(About half of my audience here weren’t following me when I went on this trip though, so I like to think you get to experience all of these for the first time! 🎞️🤎

What are your thoughts? How quaint is this little building? I want one in our backyard! G xx by @_georginamorrison

A little look into my living room for once! With my new *old* couch that belonged to my great-grandparents, bought in the 30s, then my grandmother, then my parents. The funny thing is, ‘antique’ and ‘hand-me-down’ furniture is the new ‘it’ thing - and it’s all I’ve ever known.

It replaced a grey couch I had for years, since my early uni/Geelong era c.2017. My parents bought it in QLD because none of our existing couches fit the house up there, and then when we moved back to VIC it did NOT fit the Australian Country House aesthetic 🤣 so it came to live with me. It had all sorts of memories attached - good and bad! But when it was time for it to go & make room for the ‘new’ one, the only way to get it out of Henderson Cottage was the way it came in — through the window! And as my Dad, who is not woo woo at all, aptly said: doing that took all the energy out with it.

Once this new couch was in here, somehow, my house finally felt like the beautiful homes I’d grown up in — the ones styled by my talented Mumma, Sarah (who also created my gallery wall here) and my grandmother Susie. Each year, I realise how much that saying, ‘home is a feeling’ is true - but equally, there’s something about when your house styling clicks, and begins to really feel like you, that’s hard to put words to.

The only thing yet to click are these surround sound speakers I’ve always hated the look of but loved the benefits of — Haavard’s one concession. I managed to edit it out of photo 2, but every heal attempt in the first photo looked hideous! AI spot editing has not come as far as we think. So I decided the real thing wasn’t so bad 🤣

So here it is — my living room, as it is, and the old couch that has made it really feel the way I always dreamed my home would.

Georgie xx

India 🇮🇳🤍 today I was interviewed by Michael McLaren on @2gb873 radio — Sydney’s premier news and talk-back station, about tips for first-time travellers, the things I loved most, and some lessons from my time there.

Anyone who has been interviewed on radio knows how fast 10 minutes goes! So I’ve popped the extended notes up on my blog, including the tours I’m looking at for 2027 with @intrepidtravel.

Is India on your bucket list too? Have you been? I would love to hear your absolute favourites too 💭

Comment INDIA and I’ll send the blog to you 🧡

AH! There is much excitement among us about the onset of spring. So we set up a little photoshoot today in the garden beneath the humble Prunus which has exploded into blossom this week.

It’s not a big tree, but the featherlight blossoms and the late afternoon light were too good to pass up!

Of course there was no show without punch. Queen Betty, our dachshund hasn’t appeared for a while in our shoots, but she does love to wander in an out.

What started as a product shoot, ended up including cups of tea. We decided we love the mix and match of old and new. The floaty muslin, our Hope and Co ceramics and then the big tea cups from a vintage set of Spode handed down by my grandmother to my mother and then to me. I swear the tea tastes best from them.

The sunlight poked through the trees at just the perfect moment. Georgie captures the magic.

The napkins in this image were sourced from Lucinda Kimpton when she had her store in Penshurst.

There is nothing better than this light; golden hour for photos, do you agree?

The vintage books belonged to Haavard’s grandfather, and when I picked one up, it was ‘The Olive Tree’ by Aldous Huxley. At first glance it made very interesting reading!

The wave salad bowl pictured here is available on our Hope and Co website as are the little stoneware Daisy bowls, which are pictured here with Arnott’s Venetian biscuits in them. When I was a child I was always thrilled to find two of them wrapped in my lunch box—and thus, I have an enduring love for them…

The Majolica style blue and white, hand painted Berry Bowl in the front is available and will be up online shortly.

Reading Huxley. Bit of an eye opener about the nature of persuasion and propaganda, which I won’t get into here, for obvious reasons!!

Tea with a dash of milk? Or straight up?

Betty is getting close to the biscuits.

Thanks to me, she also has an enduring love for Venetians.

Getting a little too close for comfort, Betty Boo!

I’ll have to share one…

Incidentally the rattan table and chairs were sourced by Georgie from Facebook Market place—and aren’t they a revelation! We can set up a very glam picnic anywhere.

But for now, this little setting was dr by @_georginamorrison

From August, a couple of winters ago at the beautiful @mountmitchellestate 🤍 most of these are outtakes from our feature for @graziher. What I love most is the way you can feel the whisper of spring in the light and in the first blossoms! As I prepare to head back this way on a work trip with Mum for @australiancountryhouse next week, take a wander through the grounds with me …

The gorgeous kitchen garden, in morning frost. The ice was so thick it could have been snow!

Border Collies are gentle guides throughout the grounds.

In wedding season, the sprawling lawn usually has an amazing marquee on it!

The lake is ethereal! Haavard and I wandered down here at sunset and it felt straight out of a film.

The homestead almost glows in the afternoon light.

This is one of my favourite photos I’ve never shared!

That thick blanket of frost again! It was incredible. None of these wintry shots actually made it into the feature as they didn’t fit the season of the issue, but they’re some of my favourites.

And the gorgeous blossoms 🌸 the first hint of spring! Are the blossoms out where you are?

Interiors photography has a long history of bleaching everything and stripping a space of its character. Here’s how I captured a moody 100+ year-old Californian bungalow, honouring its natural ambiance and not blowing out my windows.

I’m a published interiors photographer, and the first thing I’ll do when I want to work with the natural ambient light is turn the artificial lights off — overhead, lamps. NO flash.

Then, I’ll bring together objects that feel natural to that space, that help tell a story.

I have my own trove of objects I gather with a suite of images in mind — this antique brass vase, books, and sage, thyme, rosemary and lavender snipped from my garden. They all feel like they belong here.

I think about the feeling and intent of this shoot, and work with different lenses to achieve that.

I find moving to a lens with a narrower aperture allows me to lean into moodiness & preserve more detail.

I also shift focus for different photos — it layers the story, and the feeling of looking out the window yourself.

I keep my edits simple, but also use masking if I need to bring up anything indoors — and leave the windows be!

If you want access to the library & all future additions comment ‘POCKET’ - make sure you’re follow me so I can actually message you!

I’m so thrilled to be writing & sharing this post to my feed, for my talented Mumma, Sarah, and @_hopeandco_ . The whole reason I started professional photography in 2020, is because of my original courageous creative Mum here and this special business. So to capture our freshly renovated studio, and Mum’s beautiful new collection here was such a full-circle moment!

On Saturday, Mum (Sarah!) launched her Arcadia collection, and I’m so deeply proud of her. Three decades as a professional artist (in between raising a blended family of six kids and wearing all the hats, while also being a business owner, AND writing and publishing a novel!). To see her do the work she loves every day, and with such talent … you can see why she’s my biggest inspiration and hero.

When my parents bought this old radiator repairs building in 2018, it was crumbling and the grease on the floor was so thick you had to wipe your feet AFTER being inside! After years of care and renovations — mostly all by Mum & my Dad, Pete, who are unreal — now this mid-century garage is a creative jewel, and everyone who visits can’t quite believe it’s tucked away in a country town!

One of my favourite works, ‘Towards Coleraine’, which Mum painted of one of my photographs! 🥹

And one of my favourite captures of Mum from the photoshoot we did last week! With ‘Hinterland’. The whole collection is now live over on the Hope & Co. website! Visit @_hopeandco_ and tap on the link 🤍
