Photoshoot location for @thegoodgiftco_ 📸 It was such a treat to capture some products here at @hendersoncottage during ‘golden hour’ ✨ I love the way the sunset bounces from the windows on the house opposite us, onto ours! I was also super lucky to have a stunning bouquet of flowers and vase, gifted by a dear family friend as an engagement present 🌼 to use in this shoot! If you would like your product professionally photographed by @_georginamorrison here with the backdrop of the cottage, drop me line in the comments or via DM. Content / USG collaborations in exchange for product are also a possibility, so please get in touch to discuss further. 🤍 📸: @_georginamorrison #hendersoncottage #productshoot #cottagelife #cottageliving #contentcreator

I have a confession … I’m an interiors and house photographer by day, yes. But by night, I’m shuffling around and rearranging my own home again, and again, and again until it starts to speak to me the way I want it to. Capturing houses has always been a natural thing for me, but curating a space is something I have had to work SO hard at! I’ve learnt from observing my talented Mum, Sarah @australiancountryhouse and my grandmother, Sue. I’ve lapped up YouTube videos, and my Mum’s coffee table books over the years. Perused Pinterest and pinned until my thumbs ache. But even owning beautiful coffee table books was out of reach for me for a very long time; a luxury expense I couldn’t justify, no matter how long I wanted them! Now, I’m slowly, slowly gathering a collection of my own. ‘Curate’ on the top here, by @lynda.gardener and @aliheath_uk 🤍 and my brand new ‘Art of Home’ by Shea McGee @studiomcgee which I pounced on in our local @provincialhomeliving last week, with a voucher from my dear ‘Bridesmate’ @nic_tre 🤍 They are like creative bibles, and fill me with inspiration and awe. If you’re in your twenties, like me, and want to learn to curate your space — start here, with these two books! They make my space more beautiful just in the way they look, too. There is so much beauty in all the houses on Instagram on Pinterest, that as a 20-something it can feel incredibly overwhelming! But I’ve worked out the best thing is to focus on my moments—‘vignettes’ as Shea calls them— and build from there. This section in my hallway is my latest vignette, with an antique $30 chest of drawers I picked up from our local charity furniture shop. It was that piece I always needed, and never knew I was looking for … until I saw it, and knew it was mine. Accompanied by my favourite @_hopeandco_ Petal Bowl in Cornflower, an unfinished painting from lockdowns, and a door hook, when we finally hang our bedroom door. Topped off with a @provincialhomeliving vase we received as an engagement present, and camellia leaves from our garden. How do you feel about styling? #cottagestyle #modernrustic #modernrusticdecor #simpleinteriors #countrystyleloves

Last September I fell in love with a pinky-red wallpaper in a hotel near the English/Welsh border last year. It’s been floating around in the back of my mind ever since. It was bound to resurface somehow. Then looking over Georgie’s travel photos from last year, she also snapped the magnificent red dining room in Castle Howard—the masterpieces on the walls do add an element of je ne sais quoi 🤣 Ahhhhh… So it must be a bit subliminal I think, when a few weeks ago I announced to Georgie, ‘I’m going to do red on this vase!’ (Part of our new @_hopeandco_ ceramics range see image 2). ‘Oh, that’s a good idea!’ she replied. ‘How come?’ ‘Dunno,’ I said. ‘ Just want to.’ I’ve always loved dashes of red, but for a long time haven’t used it and certainly not in decorating. I’ve been swimming in blue, green and neutral pool of colours—which I still love—for ages. Think the last time I bought cushions that had red in them was probably 2010? Something like that. I don’t love all reds. In fact I detest burgundy. My favourite is raspberry and pink verging on red as watermelon. I absolutely adore pale blue and red together. I’ve already decided to do red and white for Christmas this year after a long obsession with green. So making a wee prediction! I’m going to say we might see a little resurgence for this energetic hue, hopefully not overdone like a burnt bum—but glorious splashes of it to bring life and change into our interiors..might be wrong but it’s time to see it, I think. Swings and roundabouts, as they say… 📸@_georginamorrison, @sarahhopecreative_
