Today we’re excited to present our new ADS7 brief at the @rca.architecture - where we teach since 2022.

In 2026/27 we’ll explicitly mobilise the ordinary as a form of architectural critique.
We’ll become Alternative Routine-ers: active handlers, agents of change.

The Studio emphasizes the value of tangible artifacts as embodied forms of knowledge: we’ll describe gestures through objects and instruments, we’ll portray habits through the spaces that make them possible. At the same time, we will produce new architectural realities primarily by redesigning the habits that occupy them.

Ultimately, we will design buildings as places of convivial, habitual engagement, where people spend a significant amount of time conceiving, performing and challenging alternative routines - together with others. by @_lemonot

Le Chéile – the Architectures of Belonging
@archattheedge 2026

With @tttkerr and @copenhagenarchitectureforum

The Irish phrase Le Chéile—”together” or “with one another”—invites us to reconsider
architecture not as the production of isolated objects, but as the cultivation of
relationships. It calls for an understanding of the built environment as a shared ecology,
where humans, non-humans, infrastructures, landscapes, memories, and everyday
practices continuously shape one another.

These 10 short films have been developed from these
encounters and explorations, each offering a distinct cinematic investigation of how
conviviality is produced, experienced, and negotiated within particular spaces.

A huge thanks to the @themicklallytheatre for hosting us this week, Manuela for helping us in the editing and the amazing team @takeasiesta_ for recording our best moments!

Architecture at the Edge Film Workshop
18th-25th September 2026
Led by lemonot (Sabrina Morreale and Lorenzo Perri)

The Irish phrase Le Chéile—”together” or “with one another”—invites us to reconsider
architecture not as the production of isolated objects, but as the cultivation of relationships. It calls for an understanding of the built environment as a shared ecology, where humans, non-humans, infrastructures, landscapes, memories, and everyday practices continuously shape one another.

Conviviality entails multiple ways of being in space. How can film help us explore how being within particular sites can shape an occupant’s being as a person? This year, we explored the concept of belonging - not as an abstract concept, but something cultivated through inhabiting, experiencing, and negotiating space, and is influenced by different degrees of spatial complexity.

Urban spaces do not necessarily facilitate expression or lived difference. They often operate as fast spaces “of transit”, characterised by limited contact between strangers.

How do we create places where diverse forms of life can encounter one another, participate, and belong?

Our project engages with micropublics that require ongoing interaction and communication, fostering mutual knowledge and familiarity through repeated patterns of behaviour. Through this process, 10 short films have been developed from these encounters and explorations, each offering a distinct cinematic investigation of how conviviality is produced, experienced, and negotiated within particular spaces.

Together, these short films examine the relationship between spatial conditions and lived experience, allowing us to encounter unexpected micropublics between private and public spheres, while also considering how new forms of convivial space might be created. Rather than treating film simply as a means of documenting these environments, the project uses filmmaking as a way of inhabiting, observing, and interpreting them—creating a collection of perspectives through which the complexities of belonging, difference, familiarity, and co-presence can be explored.

Today it’s the beginning of a new journey for Lemonot - at @columbiagsapp

Lorenzo Perri has been invited to teach Core Architecture Studio I - @gsappcore1 - coordinated by Mireia Luzárraga - @we_are_takk

ON PERFORMATIVITY, BODIES AND CONVIVIALITY

The Studio frames architecture as a set of performative endeavours: actions of doing that actively produce a new reality and enact a social/symbolic function rather than just representing it. To design these processes, we’ll employ an expanded notion of “body”. We’ll investigate human and other-than-human bodies as layered constructs, to be explored from a spatial point of view. And architectures as composite, living devices that must be bodily challenged.

Performative Bodies
@aasummerschool Opening Lecture + 🍸

It’s been ten years! AA summer school opening night Lecture

A journey through the projects developed by Lemonot over the past 10 years, framing architecture as a form of action that operates where spatial practices become performative and intersect with relational art.

A series of drawings, short films, public spaces, exhibitions, scenographies, inhabitable sculptures, and party machines that explores the politics of conviviality, seeking to create new possibilities for collective engagement, amplifying alternative narratives, and fostering unexpected interactions between diverse bodies within our contemporary world(s).

🌟 Il Magistretti inglese

9 – 18 July at the Hockney Gallery, Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London SW7 2EU

Private view Thursday 9 July, 4 to 8pm

ICI London supports Il Magistretti inglese, an exhibition that explores the relationship between Vico Magistretti and the United Kingdom through projects, correspondence, collaborations, conferences, awards and recognitions, as well as through the work and recollections of his students at the Royal College of Art in London.

The exhibition tells a story of a design and cultural affinity, almost a “love story” – drawing on letters, sketches, photographs, and notes mostly from the Studio Magistretti Archive – that goes far beyond Vico’s well-known role as visiting professor at the Royal College of Art in 1979.

A love story that starts in the 1950s with Magistretti’s participation in the Italian Contemporary Architecture show at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London and which goes on to include many projects inspired by English forms and materials, from the Caori table in 1969 to the Raffles armchair in 1988.

Also noteworthy are the trip for the 12th Triennale to visit the English prefabricated Model Schools and the traces of the conferences held in London, Glasgow and Belfast. The show also extends to little-known architectural projects in Leeds and West Yorkshire.

A project developed through the collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute in London, Fondazione Vico Magistretti, and Royal College of Art, with the support of Gruppo Censeo

Roman Foraging is exhibited at the Rocca Pia in Tivoli until the 7th of June! Curated by @michelacarlafalcone, alongside some wonderful work by @laquilarealeartenatura - 🌱

Roman Foraging asks the viewer to stay active, aware of its surroundings - to walk toward the outside, toward their own outer part of the Rome —wandering with places that seem abandoned, but in reality, often, are simply forgotten. Traces of an unfinished past that can be transformed into a filter for possible futures.

The film attempts to gently peer into these islands, to
interpret a changing landscape. Roman Foraging
portrays new ways of being together, where conviviality becomes an exceptional tool for building new opportunities for inclusion in the city and its landscapes. by @_lemonot

We would like to invite you on Wednesday afternoon to the @aabookshop for the Launch of Performing Architecture on the 29th of April at 6PM!

Last year, we were part of Performing Architecture: a citywide festival launched in Milan through the collaboration between @base_milano and @dopo.space which engaged five districts in the southern suburbs – Corvetto, Chiaravalle, Stadera, Barona and Tortona in Milan – 5 artists and designers have been engaging through performances, installations, and public actions over the course of a year.

The neighbourhoods involved in the festival hosted a site-specific intervention—a temporary installation—designed by an architect and a performer in collaboration with a local organisation rooted in the area. We have been working in collaboration with Luca Boffi @alberonero_ and @terzo_paesaggio in Macchine da Festa.

We finally have the chance to present our work in a book published by dpr-barcelona and edited by Salvatore Peluso. Lemonot will be in conversation with @lindipietro and @alessandropasero . See you at 6PM on the 29th April at the @aaschool by @_lemonot

Live Camp-ing

During Milan Design Week 2026, together with the @rca_soa students, we have been transforming the rooftop of @base_milano - as part of the ongoing Lemonot’s collaboration as Artisti Associati - into a place to experiment with multiform practices of radical conviviality.

Together we builded a temporary community: for seven days, they will act as sensible observers and embodied researchers, experiencing and at the same time investigating the peculiar, trans-territorial and, for many reasons, controversial inhibiting processes that characterise the city of Milan during such a peculiar moment as its annual @isaloniofficial
