Nothing special.

Since their 2021 release, getting your hands on a pair of b&w Nike Dunk Lows meant navigating limited drops and inflated resale prices.

After years of hype, repeated restocks turned scarcity into availability; the so-called ‘Panda’ went from everyone’s obsession to everyone’s possession, gradually becoming a symbol of those who are either new to sneaker culture or simply couldn’t care less about it.

Over the past year, I’ve been snapping pictures of them with my phone on the feet of strangers travelling across Milan, collecting dozens of variations of what is essentially the same image.

Rearranged into a black-and-white waltz, these anonymous encounters trace the strange journey of a sneaker spinning between desirability and ubiquity.

A small celebration of the ordinary. Nothing special. by @_marcog
