Hello community! 📣 It’s Miranda (or most people call me Mir).

I’m excited to share that 4 Elements Training & Health is now ➡️ Move with Mir.

This change reflects the evolution of my work over the past five years and a more intentional approach to training, health, and life.

While the four elements of health physical, emotional, mental, and social remain at the core of everything I do, movement is my specialty and my focus.

Through intentional movement, you can heal, strengthen, and support your body and mind so you move better, feel better, and live better as you age. After 23 years as a kinesiologist, along with my experiences as an athlete and navigating injury and illness, I truly believe that movement is medicine.

My purpose is simple: to inspire, educate, and guide others to train for life. I want my community to move with intention, be educated in supporting your wellbeing, and build a body and mind that serves your life.

Welcome to Move with Mir. by @_movewithmir

Having bad bridge form can strain your back and cause knee pain, and prevent you from gaining the benefits from the exercise!

Main mistakes ❌

→ Rib flare
→ Lifting from the low back instead of heels/glutes
→ No core engagement
→ Rushing the movement
→ Poor breath + core coordination

What you SHOULD do ✅

→ Start with core engagement
→ Breathe with control (exhale into effort)
→ Drive through heels, connect ribs to pelvis, lift through glutes
→ Move slow, intentional, and controlled
→ Squeeze glutes at the top, hold if needed by @_movewithmir

I never planned to play soccer.

I grew up in a home that lacked structure and had a lot of chaos. My mom worked all the time while single parenting me and my sister.

Sundays used to be about church. Until one day, a friend of mine asked me to play soccer as their team was short on players. I said yes and was fitted with one soccer cleat and one baseball cleat as I had one foot bigger than the other, and that’s all she could find.

I played once and then replaced church with soccer on Sundays which became the light in my life.

The Butterfly effect is wild because what if I didn’t say yes to a friend who asked me to play?

What if I accepted the chaos and lack of stability in my home as the definition of family? I wouldn’t have found the value in sports and realized that teammates are not only friends but family.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of the friends, coaches and teammates that lead me to sports. by @_movewithmir

Thank you to everyone who joined our first Move with Mir Community Connection gathering this past weekend. 🫶🏻

It was so special to watch people who have moved together virtually for years finally hug, laugh, and connect in person.

What started during COVID as a way to keep people moving and connected has grown into a community grounded in support, consistency, kindness, and training for life.

Seeing that connection come to life in person was incredibly special and something I’ll never forget. We missed those who couldn’t join us, and I hope this is just the beginning of an annual tradition.

Strength comes from within, but community helps us keep moving forward.

Thank you to @workshopclinic for allowing me to not only train in person in their gym but host this incredible event.

I’m so proud of this community and incredibly grateful for each of you.💛💛 by @_movewithmir

I feel eternally grateful to live in BC, Canada. 🤍

It’s easy to take our home for granted, but when you realize how rare it is to have access to so many clean and beautiful trails, surrounded by trees, rivers, and wildlife, the only way to show gratitude is to immerse yourself in it.

Having respect for nature adds another layer of intention to being outdoors and deepens the physical and mental benefits that come from walking our trails.

Take care of where you live, and make the most of what surrounds you. by @_movewithmir

It’s September, which means rainy season is slowly heading our way. 🌧️

But that shouldn’t stop us from going outside! Even though it’s tempting to cozy up at home, there’s something incredibly calming about walking while listening to the rain patter around you, then rewarding yourself with warmth when you head back inside.

Try romanticizing your rainy day walks instead of letting Vancouver’s rainy season get you down. Put on your rain gear, embrace the weather, and find something to enjoy about being outside. by @_movewithmir

Reflecting on this past weekend, I was gifted the perfect weather to spend time with my two favourite homies. 🧔🏻🐶💛☀️

Three days straight of ocean swimming at my favourite local spots, going on bike rides, walks, a hike, and run amidst nature.

I’m truly so appreciative of every moment, and of those in my life and of my health.

As I enter a new year of life, I’ve been reflecting on everything that has brought me here, the struggles, the adventures, the lessons, and all the moments that have shaped who I am today. Moving into my later 40s, I keep coming back to one word: flow.

For me flow is about how I move through life. It’s my health, my movement, my mindset, and the people I choose to surround myself with.

Thank you to everyone who thought of me on my birthday, and sent me wishes and love. My heart is full. ♥️ by @_movewithmir

Greens and seasonal fruits are key to nourishing not only my body, but my brain, skin, mental health, and overall well-being. 🌿

I do one big produce haul each week, then spend 1–2 hours prepping, organizing, and storing everything so it lasts. I clean, chop, and plan how I’ll use different vegetables throughout the week.

Having this routine keeps me organized and consistent with getting enough greens, fruits, and vegetables into my meals each day, while taking away the time and stress that can come with figuring out what to eat when nothing is prepped or planned.

A few ways I prioritize my produce:

1. Shop seasonally whenever possible.
2. Start with produce. I shop for my fruits and vegetables first before making my way through the rest of the grocery store.
3. Visit farmers markets! Especially this time of year, when local produce is at its best.

A little preparation at the beginning of the week can go a long way toward relieving stress throughout the rest of it. 🌱 by @_movewithmir

These moms take great pride in their training, and I couldn’t be more proud of them. 🤍

This is my in-person group training, where these ladies get to move, connect, and support one another while continuing to work toward their personal progressions through virtual training.

Combining the two creates a deeper training experience. It gives clients who can’t come in person all the time the opportunity to make time for in-person sessions, while still maintaining consistency and community through their shared training.

I usually go swimming in the ocean while Jon and Antonio support me from dry land, but today Jon joined in!

He’s a great sport and having the social element while doing something physically hard, like swimming in the ocean, makes the water feel a bit warmer. 🤗 by @_movewithmir

Hip abduction is an important movement for building strength and stability around the hips, but how you perform it matters.

Focus on controlled movement, proper alignment, and using the muscles around your hips rather than relying on momentum.

Some nostalgic content from 5 years ago when we hiked The Lions!

So crazy how fast time flies. I am so grateful for my friends, my husband, and our guide Devon who contributed to this heartfelt memory. by @_movewithmir
