非常感谢 @gane.trust 的支持 , 让我可以开始美柔汀版画新项目的创作。这个实验项目主要是做mark-making方面的探索，我将美柔汀版画技法视作一种肌理而存在，将摇点刀当作“笔刷”，直接在铜板上进行写生。

当我搬到布里斯托后，我发现我失去了我习惯的视觉场景，人群密度降低了之后，对城市风景的绘制开始逐渐占据我的速写本。不妨就试试看可以做成什么样吧。

I am deeply grateful to @gane.trust for supporting me in beginning this new mezzotint printmaking project.

This experimental project is an exploration of mark-making. I consider the mezzotint technique primarily as a means of creating texture, using the rocker tool as a “brush” to draw directly onto copper plates.

Since moving to Bristol, I have found myself distanced from the visual environments I was once accustomed to. With a lower density of people and a different rhythm of urban life, city landscapes have gradually begun to occupy more and more space in my sketchbook.

I am curious to see what this process may become. by @_qinlinyang_

Qinlin Yang is a Chinese artist living and working in London. Born in 1992, she received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Art Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology before completing a master’s degree in Illustration and Book Arts at Anglia Ruskin University in the UK.
 Yang’s practice explores the emotional and psychological transformations that take place through migration, with a focus on identity, belonging and feminist narratives within diasporic contexts. Drawing from her experience of living across different cultural environments, she connects individual memory with wider histories of migration and shifting global conditions. Her work incorporates fragments of recollection, personal objects and symbolic imagery into spaces that feel temporally unstable and emotionally charged. Through metaphor and reconstructed scenes, Yang examines how the pressures, ruptures and negotiations of cross-cultural existence shape memory, identity and the search for belonging.  Artist: @_qinlinyang_

每一次動身，每一次懸在口中的再見，在移動的路上，那些晃於眼前景色在速度裡面流淌，該如何被閱讀呢？
或許，我們也都心知肚明，這些留不住的，也包含自己了吧。

這是我在2025年初於京都 @bridgestudio_kyoto 駐村時的個展節錄，在一次沒有計劃好的旅途，遇到了自己家鄉的名字，高雄。

疊圖於景色的故事以及稍縱即逝的速度感，在一座山裡面就像是在呢喃著，說這些路上的行人啊，何處為家呢？

“A Call from the Distant Mountains”

Every departure, every farewell lingering unspoken on the lips—while traveling, the landscapes that flicker before our eyes flow past in motion and speed. How are we meant to read them?

Perhaps, deep down, we already know: among all the things that cannot be held onto, we ourselves are included.

This text is excerpted from my solo exhibition during an artist residency at Bridge Studio Kyoto in early 2025.

On an unplanned journey, I unexpectedly encountered the name of my hometown: Kaohsiung.

The layered images of passing scenery, together with the fleeting sensation of speed, seemed to whisper from within a mountain: To those who travel these roads, where is home? by @_qinlinyang_

I really liked something I said while chatting with Shih-Hsiang that day:

“When I was walking outside, the wind was so strong and cold against my body. So I opened my arms and let the wind pass through me. The feeling of coldness disappeared. It felt like that day painting by the River Thames, when I accidentally stepped into the water and my shoes were completely soaked, and suddenly I felt this strange sense of happiness.”

So I decided to start recording some moments of slacking off in daily life. 🎐 by @_qinlinyang_
