Our very first Let’s Touch Grass: Read Your Own Book session went exactly not as planned! Haha! But it was just what it needed to be. In a month, @singsongsocialclub turns 2 and I can hardly believe it! 💛 Time has a way of crawling and flying by all at the same time but I still recall every session of Sing Song like it was yesterday. The year doesn’t exist in months for me anymore but in song titles depending on which we’ve done. Most days it feels like I’m STILL processing each one — that’s more than 20 sessions playing on repeat. I realise that sounds obsessive but perhaps it’s because I am. It’s hard not to be about something that has brought me so much joy, purpose, friends, reconnection, hope, and music into my life again.✨

I just realised these pictures were sitting in my drafts since August and I could’ve saved it to share next month on Sing Song’s actual anniversary but there’s going to be more to share about and be thankful for again then! So if we’re grateful for a moment today, we should just let it be known. Thank you for filling my life with so much @singsongsocialclub! by @aarikalee

In 2011 when I watched @janetjackson at the Indoor Stadium, I remember not leaving my seat for even one second. Every song needed to be sung or danced to, and I was so bummed I didn’t watch it with my cousin but found @jamienonis quickly after the show to wait for Janet at the stage door and SERENDIPITOUSLY ended up side by side with Janet’s car along Nicoll Highway after. ✨😱 I nearly passed out when she smiled at me cos I wound down the window screaming “I LOVE YOU JANET!” and I just remember Jamie and I laughing and screaming the whole drive after. CORE. MEMORY.

Watching her again yesterday was a WHOLE thing for me. I didn’t wanna experience it through my screen so I gave @thelioncityboy my phone and just said “HELP ME!” Thanks for immortalising the night for me babe so I could sing and dance my heart out to the songs I’ve loved forever. by @aarikalee

Can you tell I had too much fun dressing up for a night out at the movies? Brought my supreme sorceress best to support this stacked cast and crew of @sandboxmovie.sg that opens in cinemas TODAY! Congratulations to all our friends and this heartwarming production that just hits so close to home. Because… it’s actually about home. This tale of struggle and loss, hope and resilience, and the very real challenges of our local businesses (wrapped in a comedy) is more than just a conversation that needs to happen in the aftermath. It needs to be seen and addressed here and now before we lose more places and spaces that are very real homes for some of us. Homes where Singapore stories get a chance to unfold.

In a time where there is just way too much misuse of AI, please go out and watch something created by humans, filled with humans, made for humans. ❤️

ps: If you ever need this Scarlett Witch headgear from the 80s and black villainous gloves, @ccmcostume’s gotchu. Half feel like I need to keep this headgear, forever…

If we could have it our way, every school holidays would include a stay at @rasasentosa 🏝️✨ It’s one of the very few resorts that doesn’t just cater to kids, it creates experiences and spaces FOR them. It’s why our kids always ask to go back. It’s not just because they get to swim all day, or play on the beach, or have breakfast buffets, or play pool games, or have balloon swords made for them before mealtime and magic tricks presented to them AT mealtime, or go kayaking and paddling, or watch movies under the stars, it’s because they feel seen.

The beachfront access is a bonus, and always makes a stay feel like an actual getaway. Thank you for kicking off our school holiday weekend with sunshine and laughter, @rasasentosa! Till the next time! by @aarikalee

Living for these little Show & Tells and conversations we get to have about school every week! ✨

NGL I was anxious about #OscarReid starting school earlier this year. 3 always still feels so little, and we were trying out a new school with him. Zola and Ari attended a kindy that our whole family went to as kids so enrolling Oscar somewhere new had its set of discomforts. But seeing how happy he is to go to school everyday, coming home with all his many stories about his friends, teachers, and everything in between has been so reassuring.

We are now 7 months into this journey at @littlepaddingtonpreschool and it’s been soooo much fun watching him experience school in such a dynamic way. 🧸❤️ Yay, baby boy! You’ve been doing so great! by @aarikalee
