I’m so excited to announce that I’m running for Executive Vice President of the VA Young Democrats!I joined VAYD at age 14 as one of the founding members of the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Young Democrats. Today, I have the honor of serving as President of HRYD. In this role, I’ve worked with an incredible team, growing our chapter, hosting a record-breaking convention in 2025, and placing third in this year’s campaign competition. These experiences have shown me what’s possible when young people receive the tools, trust, and support to lead. Growing up in Rockingham County, I’ve learned what it means to fight for what matters in Virginia, appreciating both the challenges and the beauty that exists in our communities. My community inspired me to get involved early, leading me to organize, campaign, and build youth power across the Commonwealth. VAYD introduced me to my passion; it gave me mentors, lifelong friends, and the confidence to lead. Over the years, I’ve served as VAYD Valley Region Chair, led the Council of Presidents as Chair, knocked on thousands of doors, worked on multiple campaign cycles, and helped guide youth-led feminist organizing in Virginia.As your EVP, I will focus on facilitating clear and consistent communication with our chapters, bolstering support for our caucuses, ensuring transparent decision-making, and keeping VAYD centered on the issues that matter most to Virginians and young people.Across the nation, we’re seeing attacks on our democratic institutions, rising extremism, and a federal government that too often prioritizes the elite over everyday Americans. The 2026 elections are critical, and they represent our best opportunity to push back against tyranny. In moments like this, YDs have a responsibility to step up and stand up for our most vulnerable communities. I would be honored to earn your support. did something happen this weekend?thank you to everyone who made this record-breaking weekend possible, especially @royermattw! I sincerely hope everyone felt the resilient spirit, grit, and joy of the Shenandoah Valley. This place has shaped me in profound ways, and made me who I am today. @coalitionvafuture lobby day 2023!!!💚So, so grateful for everyone who made this possible. I am so energized by all these amazing young people who traveled to Richmond to lobby with us today.
