Hiking through the Dolomites ( Alta Via 1 ) 2024

Solo hiking, brought out my inner thoughts. I started to wonder how accessible hiking actually is.
Why do we hike?
What do we buy to allow us to resist the elements?

I leant that a lot of older people hike for fitness and health. That was very inspiring to see.

Health is linked to hiking

What are some socio factors that affect one to discover the outdoors?

I’m all over the place but the real question is.

How can we participate in recreation whilst being sustainably aware?

I wanted to create a space where people can access clothing and equipment at an affordable price. Outdoor gear is known to be pricey. So I want to bring my knowledge and community together to tackle this issue. HMMM by @acnd2acnd

After switching out my polyester thermals, MERINO SAVED ME OMG. They are the best pieces to hike and travel with, in both summer and winter.

MERINO SOCKS REDUCE BLISTERSE AND I NEVER GET THEM FROM HIKING. I CAN ALSO WEAR THEM FOR DAYS WITHOUT THEM STINKING BAD. THEY PARI REALLY WELL WITH GROTEX SHOES BECAUSE THEY WICK AWAY SWEAT FROM YOUR FEET.

HELLO GUYS!!

If you are living in Melbourne! You can officially rent my camping gear.

You won’t have to buy cheap camping gear that won’t last you. And you don’t have to spent thousands on ultralight camping gear, that you might only use a couple of times. Instead you can use quality gear that will protect you from the elements. Not only is my gear in good quality condition, but it is also light and very warm. Don’t worry about having cold nights anymore. I will be posting more about the important of having quality and suitable outdoor gear while camping and hiking.

When I first started hiking, I borrowed my friend’s gear and I am so grateful because it allowed me to explore and try out products without having to invest in something very early on into my hobbies.

But even when i started buying my own gear, i didn’t do enough research on the products that would benefit me in the long run. I ended up having to upgrade all of my gear until i found products that were suitable for specific weather conditions. I’ve done the research so you don’t have to. I suffered so many freezing nights because I couldn’t afford expensive and quality gear. But now I’ve made the investment and I want to be able to share this with you.

I bought these Mary Jane Merrell’s on facebook marketplace, and they have been all over the world.

For $30 they have been the best travel shoe ever. The owner sold these because she barely wore them.
They are made with a Vibram sole, you can wear them in the water with no worries, and they look cute.

Your gear can be bought second hand and still have plenty of life.

Let me know your thoughts.

I want to start a discussion on how popular outdoor clothing has become. There’s a lot more influence in the media of outdoor fashion. A rising debate of how sustainable all of this new consumption is. What do you think?

Me I would say, we should utilise what we already have. But I don’t agree with slandering and hating on creatives for providing different options for new hikers. There is no point in hating if there is not a solution provided. But also for creators I believe we should be educating on what gear is needed and there benefits.
