Make a Gambian inspired hanbok with me… This May I had the opportunity to design and make a Gambian inspired hanbok for my client to attend the @bts.bighitofficial concerts in London. (Side note: the fact that my design could attend a concert before me has me 😆😭💃🏾🕺💃🏾) The piece had to pay reverence to both cultures whilst also being breezy enough for a concert in the scorching summer heat. ‘Will she, save me too…?’ I’ve been thinking about this post for a week now, if it was something I needed to share, if I actually had something to say - part of my whole overthinking of getting back into making content again. However, one of the thing that learnt on my holiday with my gorgeous friend @nickart.301 was creating while having fun in the process. I don’t know how to be a ‘professional’ brand owner, however, I do know how to show up and simply be. Thus, I hope that starting from here, just as I am in this moment will be enough. (have a feeling it is…) There is probably more to learn along the way and maybe I will discover my own form of professionalism en route. For now, I want to share my stories as I would if I was talking to a friend or laughing across a table with a stranger (new friend). So welcome to Adanma’s Fashion. ~ I really wanted to share a bit into what it means to me launching this brand and releasing it’s debut collection. After the first fashion show I curated with my friends when we were only 17, I thought I would never design again. Yet, overtime I found myself returning to it softly. I’ve never actually felt my designs were unique enough, yet through my exploration in fine art my perspective began shifting from trying to figure out if they were unique enough to simply enjoying the process of creating. I wanted so badly for 2022 to be the year I launched my first collection, as a way to prove to myself that I could do it. That I was good enough and I was worthy of my dreams. Yet, it wasn’t. Instead, life made me promise that my love for myself would not depend on if I felt I was successful or not - it first had to be unconditional they said. The collection wasn’t created till 2025 and even after it was, fears and old beliefs surface… What is it wasn’t good enough? Would people like it? So I hid. It feels funny to say I’ve spent the past 6 months falling back in love with my collection and my brand. And the more I reconnect to their stories, the more obsessed I’ve become.😂 I look forward to you guys to experience the pieces yourself and I hope you will be as obsessed or even more.💖 Lots of love, Adanma. by @adanmasworld

I remember destroying one of my favourite jeans for this design, whilst to figure out how I could make my interesting and fun to me. It’s so cool when the vision actually comes to life! 🥰🥹💖 It’s been so exciting getting to create my own fun Jean for my debut collection. As a lover of unique jean pieces, I fell in love with Breska jeans when I went to visit my friend in Spain in 2022. In our shopping spree I realised jean styles and patterns can be anything. I kept thinking of ways to maintain the classic structure of jeans whilst weaving in my own love for organic shape and colour. The shape of the pockets was a place I felt I could really have fun with and I’m so gassed with how it turned out. _ Also side note: On my jean journey, I realised men jeans get to have way more fun patterns than women’s jeans cause they have a small range of pieces in which they can express themselves through. Forced out of my comfort zone by my art and having a fun time💖✨ Slide 1:- a secret shoot for the @adanmasfashion that had me in make up. 2nd time in the past 2 years, that is 2x more than the past 10 years.😂 It was lovely to be pampered tho! Thank you @vanitystudiosuk and thank you Mal for being my pamper buddy and making the shoot so fun!💖✨ Slide 2:- Getting my nails done by @fairytalejunglenails . I’m still so obsessed with those nails! She took her time ensuring that we got the design exactly as I wanted, and cared about the health of my nails. Still my best nails this far - thank you so much!💖✨ And yes they match my collection… layers. Slide 3:- Feeling cute in the make-up cause yes😌 Slide 4:- First time my nail has grown out in at least 7 years. (For context I bite them a lot as a way to soothe so I’ve barely had nails for most of my life🤷🏾‍♀️) Slide 5:- A video cause yes we must document this rare moment. 🙂‍↕️ Slide 6:- a lovely are work by @milvilla_ that I fell in love with at Japan weekend Spain, but didn’t get to buy cause I also fell in love with another piece.
