What can I say, our 6 day trek with @hekluhestar was one of the best things I’ve done in my life. Nearly a month later and it still sits in my heart. It was an amazing group, we saw the most beautiful sights of Iceland and I absolutely loved bonding with such strong, spirited horses. We will be back! taken in Iceland by @adechong

Day 3 brought us to Landmannalaugar, and a short hike around the most stunning, multi-coloured mountains. The colours come from rhyolite rock, formed from silica-rich lava, which cools and fractures differently than the basalt found across most of Iceland. This gives the mountains pink, orange, and green hues, depending on oxidation and mineral content. I wasn’t expecting to see so much snow mid-summer, but it only added to the drama. Iceland is a harsh, often unforgiving landscape, but the result here is one-of-a-kind, otherworldly beauty. taken in Landmannalaugar, Iceland by @adechong
