Happy 2️⃣0️⃣th Birthday @parkrunuk 🥳🎊🎉🎂. I had the honour of being interviewed by @bbclondon as part of the birthday celebrations 🧡. Thank you Sir Paul Sinton-Hewitt and the amazing volunteers and parkrunners who make parkrun what it is- a friendly, welcoming environment for all to socialise and exercise 🧡. It took a whole village - and that village is @swimmerboltsuk - to get me to the start line at @swimserpentine 🙏🏾💙. Once there, the DJ got me grooving both in and out of the water 💃🏽🥳

I’m dedicating this medal to @chastanetjoseph who was supposed to be my swim buddy 🫶🏾. Get well soon dear 🙏🏾❤️. I hope we get to share that swim together another time 💙 by @afe_kom

I had the privilege of spending 7 days working with incredible people supporting operations at @birmingham2026 @europeanathletics both at the Alexander Stadium and on the roads and what an experience it was! A dream for an athletics fan 🥰

It was such a brilliant week — catching up with old friends, some of whom I bumped into unexpectedly, meeting incredible people I’d previously admired from afar, making new friends, having some really interesting conversations and learning so much along the way 🙏🏾

I’ve learnt a lot about myself 🤗, but also gained a much better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes to deliver an event of this size.

There were so many highlghts! One was meeting the incredible @coachsharonm . What a formidable woman! She’s doing so much to support and develop our young athletes, and her dedication is truly something else. She came straight to the Championships to help out just hours after returning from the World Junior Championships in Oregon! That is commitment on another level!

Another unexpected highlight was chasing the solar eclipse with @jerry_sun 😂🌒. That was certainly interesting 😆

It’s been an honour to play my part in the successful delivery of the Championships, particularly as they were being held in the UK for the very first time. And, of course, getting to see our home athletes put in some incredible performances made it even more special ❤️

A week of hard work, learning, laughs, new connections and some great memories. I’m very grateful to have been part of it 🙏🏾. And, YES, my teeth did some sunning 📸😁🤣

From parkrun to volunteering at the Black Unity Bike Ride @blackunitybikeride 🤍.
Afe looked incredible in the Saber Shorts, especially with the colours catching the sunshine, and hearing this message made me smile:

“Lots of interest in these shorts 😘”

This is exactly why I love seeing your photos. Seeing IHAMORA out there as part of your adventures and everyday moments means so much. 🤍

Thank you, @afe_kom , for letting me share these! 💙

Wearing IHAMORA? Tag @ihamora. I love seeing how you style it!

Two years in the making 🙏🏾

I’m so grateful to finally see this dream become reality ❤️

In June 2023, @sacha_lumley_fitness (thank you ❤️) invited me to join her triathlon relay team as the runner 🏃🏾‍♀️ at @dorneytriathlon

At the time, I thought triathlon was out of reach mainly because of the swimming element. I couldn’t swim 25m without stopping in a pool and open water was a non-starter! Thank you @prabinatalary @swimmerboltsuk for correcting all that 🙏🏾💙

I thought triathlon was only for elite athletes with expensive kit and top-of-the-range bikes.

Then I saw people simply giving it a go. Taking their time. Finding their way. Even someone finishing the bike leg with a shopping basket attached to the front of their bike 😲

That changed everything 💡

There and then I decided I would complete a solo triathlon with Sacha as my witness 🤗

Because you cannot be what you can’t see 🙏🏾

After achieving that goal, and multiple solo triathlons later, I had a dream in 2024 to help more people discover triathlon.

And last Sunday, that dream became reality 🙌🏾

I registered two relay teams from @run.dem.crew for @runthroughuk @royalwindsortri

6 teammates.
4 first-time multi-sport participants.
50/50 gender split.
Average age: 54 🙌🏾

Because it’s never too late to tri 😘

There were challenges along the way — logistics, trials, and a last-minute injury — but we made it happen 🙏🏾

What a day ❤️

Huge love to the dream team: @ruelrunner 🏊🏾‍♂️ @jeff.och 🚴🏾‍♂️ @significantpt124 🏃🏾‍♀️ @josephine.ocaka 🏃🏾‍♀️ @martin_dixon 🚴🏾 & me 🏊🏽‍♀️ ❤️. We missed you @loskiboy 🫶🏾

Thank you for saying yes, bringing the energy and creating memories at Windsor 🥳

Here’s hoping this is the start of something bigger 🙏🏾

And seeing @lauras5yearrunningchallenge at the finish line was such a special surprise ❤️. It was also lovely seeing @marcia_triathlons_after_50 @itisruteactually & @jme3420 smashing their solo triathlons 👊🏾. Another special surprise was seeing @missuswebb in the cheer zone supporting her club members ❤️

What an achievement 🌍⏱️🥇

I am super proud to be part of this record-breaking Guinness World Records pacer team at this year’s London Marathon 🙏🏾🥳

I previously shared that this was my best race experience yet and this recognition from @guinnessworldrecords is truly the icing on the cake 🥳

I’ve also been holding onto this special piece of feedback from a runner in my pace group received the day after the marathon. I haven’t found the right moment to share it until now, but it perfectly captures what the day was all about: trust, teamwork, and the shared journey to the finish line ❤️

A record like this is never achieved by solo effort. The incredible organisation, pace coordinator @akramshalabi86 , pace team, the crowds, cheer squads, family, friends, supporters, and even strangers who gave their energy and encouragement all played a part in making this happen ❤️

I’m always honoured to be trusted as a member of a pace team - whether it’s a local race or a World Marathon Major @wmmajors . The dedication to the job at hand remains exactly the same: show up, support runners, and help them achieve their goals 👊🏾

Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged us along the way 🙏🏾

A special thank you to @londonmarathon for trusting me to get the job done, and to every runner who put your trust in me and became part of my story 🙏🏾

A huge shout-out to my amazing support crew and running community- @hayesandharlingtonroadrunners @run.dem.crew @swimmerboltsuk @blacktritribe @werunealing 🫶🏾. Thank you for the encouragement, energy, and belief. Having your support both behind the scenes and out on the course means a lot ❤️

And a huge thank you to @weareogt and @purendure for fueling me before, during, and after the race - keeping me ready to perform at my best ❤️

What a privilege. What a team. What an achievement ❤️

Last year, we celebrated Afe Komolafe of Okpekpe, Etsako East LGA, for her incredible marathon journey. Today, we’re proud to celebrate an even bigger achievement.

Afe was part of the team that set a Guinness World Record for the Most Accurate Pacers in a Marathon at the recent London Marathon.

For those unfamiliar, pacers are experienced runners who help other marathon participants achieve specific finishing times. They must maintain a near-perfect pace over the entire 42.2km distance, requiring discipline, precision, and endurance.

Being selected as a pacer is an achievement in itself. Being part of a world record-breaking pacing team is even more remarkable.

From Okpekpe to the world stage, Afe continues to inspire us with her dedication, resilience, and excellence.

Congratulations, Afe! Your Agbelo Okiako family is proud of you. ❤️🌍

Happy Volunteers' Week, @parkrunuk family 💙

This morning, we parkwalked at @northalafieldsparkrun and had some really lovely conversations along the way. Parkwalking is such a valuable role—offering encouragement, companionship and support—and it would be fantastic to see it included on future rosters as a regular volunteer role. 🙏🏾

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who make parkrun happen every week.

🏅 Medal Monday 🏅
What a fantastic day spent supporting our running community! 🙌🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

We started the morning volunteering at Dinton Pastures Junior @parkrunuk to inspire and encourage our juniors 🌟👟💙

Later, we were proud to serve as Tailwalkers/Sweepers at the inaugural Reading Nepali Runners (RNR) 10K, organised by @nepalrun and the Reading Nepali community at Dinton Pastures Country Park 🇳🇵🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🌳

Days like this remind us that running is about so much more than times and medals 🏅. It’s about bringing people together 🤝, supporting one another ❤️, celebrating different cultures 🌍, and creating opportunities for everyone to be active, connected, and included 🌟.
From cheering on junior runners in the morning 📣👏 to ensuring every 10K participant completed the course safely ✅, it was wonderful to see such a strong sense of community throughout the day 🥰.

A huge congratulations and thank you to all the runners 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️, volunteers 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️, organisers 📋, supporters 🎉, and families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 who helped make both events so special. Community spirit was on full display ✨, and we were delighted to play a small part in it ❤️.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️❤️ Together, we move stronger. 💪🏅

Today was about more than a number.

Huge congratulations to @darrenjwood on becoming the first person ever to complete 1,000 parkruns, reaching this historic milestone at @mordenparkrun

Alongside his 1,000 finishes, Darren has also amassed 415 volunteer credits, giving back to the community that makes parkrun possible every week. 🧡Kudos to Volunteers Always🧡

His words summed it up perfectly: "parkrun is free, it's for everyone — what's not to like?"

Congratulations, Darren, and thank you for everything you have contributed to parkrun.

What a day at the Wings for Life World Run 🌍🏃🏾‍♂️🔥

The day started at Milton Keynes Junior parkrun with @josephine.ocaka and @significantpt124 where I volunteered as photographer 📸🦺. Along with some familiar faces, we celebrated an incredible milestone for Josephine — her 300th parkrun volunteer achievement 👏🏾🙌🏾🥳. What an amazing contribution and dedication to the #parkrun community ❤️

After a quick coffee break with fellow parkrun volunteers ☕️, we headed over to the @redbullracing campus for @wflworldrun ❤️. I was proud to be one of 346,527 participants from 192 nations taking part in the world’s largest running event 👊🏾

This event has real purpose 🙏🏾. 100% of all entry fees go directly towards spinal cord research 👏🏾❤️

This year’s event was extra special, being held for the first time at the Oracle Red Bull Racing Campus 🏎️🚥. What an atmosphere — inspiring people everywhere, from runners to walkers to rollers, all coming together for an incredible cause 🙌🏾. Congratulations @rickstarruns for winning the Milton Keynes event 🏆

Great catching up with @esmee_ldn who kept the energy high as MC (and even threw in some shade when I thought I had a video malfunction 🙈😆). It was really cool to meet Yuki Tsunoda @yukitsunoda0511 too 😀. Fun guy! Great to see him getting involved in the run!

And yes… my @londonmarathon medal tour is still going strong 🙏🏾🥰🏅
