6.19.24 | I have been searching for words to express this project, this celebration, this work of art, this production for over a year now. And last night made it even more challenging to form into words.

What an absolute honor to host @mlb x @uninterrupted in a city I call my own—Birmingham, Alabama. This week has been so emotional, exhilarating, fun, and breathtaking to say the least.

A girl off the Westside of Birmingham, had the privilege of gaining two globally recognized partners for this moment. A partnership that exudes progress and opportunity. The team was so committed to honor our hometown hero, sports godfather, and Lifetime Icon—Willie Mays—in a way that was unique, fresh, and authentic. We had local representation from Ramsay High School, an All HBCU choir serenading the moment with Lift Every Voice and Sing, @alabamafbl, and local/Hollywood moguls, celebrities, and athletes committed for this moment that we did not know a year ago, months ago, even days ago would be one of the GREATEST MEMORIALS ever seen for our HERO—Willie Mays.🧡🙏🏾

I thank God for the Spirit to allow Kingdom Come, and His Will to be done at this appointed time. RIP to one of the greatest to ever do it. And who made it possible for the black community to be seen in spaces and places we appear to not belong. Thank you to my community for showcasing the greatest southern hospitality. And for all of those that stayed committed to this moment. @cc_sabathia, @jimmyspencerun, and @jacksonlnewsmith thank you for your endorsement! #Juneteenth #FamJam

Here are a few things that brought me joy and made me proud this month…

July was a lot—challenging in more ways than one. But through it all, I’m deeply grateful for God, my family, and a support system that constantly reminds me not to quit, to reflect on how far I’ve come, and to stay expectant about the road ahead.

I had to check myself a few times like, “Girl… you don’t even realize there are people watching you, rooting for you, praying to be where you are. People you’ve inspired to believe, to build, and to boldly dream.” That alone gave me the strength to keep showing up.

One of the highlights this month is that my company, Images Management (@imagesmgmt), was featured in a research study focused on Black women in sports and their impact presented by @diverserepresentation. That is a reminder—that our work matters and is being seen.

So here’s your reminder: the PROMISE is still greater than the GIANT. Keep going.

Sacred Ground. ⚾️💎

This weekend, I had the privilege of being part of something truly special with @papajackbaseball—bringing 28 of Alabama’s top baseball student-athletes from Jefferson, Tuscaloosa, and Shelby Counties to Vero Beach, Florida, to compete in the @mlbrbi Southeast Regionals. Proud of how Birmingham Young Barons showed up this weekend!! Year 2 in the books, we’ll be back next year better than ever.

Adopting the role of Vice President of @papajackbaseball, a baseball-focused nonprofit committed to providing a safe space for young athletes while making the game more accessible, has become one of the most meaningful responsibilities I’ve ever held.

This game continues to take me places I never imagined and introduce me to people who have changed my life. Standing on these sacred grounds, I couldn’t help but feel the presence of the Black pioneers and baseball legends who paved the way. Their legacy continues to inspire every step I take.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve, to give back, and to keep doing the work. The mission is bigger than baseball.

Thrilled to celebrate 60 years with A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club (@aggastonbgc)!

When the CEO calls you personally, and invites you to the table, you must show up!! I would like to congratulate my mentor, Andre McFadden, on how he’s rapidly growing the clubs across the Jefferson County and Shelby County area! Grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Club over the past couple of years.

The highlight of the evening was hearing @jalenhurts and Mayor Randall Woodfin (@woodfinforbham) have a Fireside Chat discussing Jalen’s mindset behind leadership, mentorship, and overcoming obstacles.

A beautiful night to capture the life and legacy of A.G. Gaston and one that raised the bar for how we serve and champion our youth and community! taken in Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa by @agentvjohnson
