🇸🇳 Building Africa Is Our Collective Responsibility🇸🇳

Last week,I had the honour of accepting Bridge Africa invitation to Senegal after being to be selected for the Africa Public Leadership Academy at #BridgeX Senegal,a powerful build-up to the Bridge Africa Summit.

The program brought together leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and future changemakers from across the continent to learn, collaborate, and strengthen systems for regional impact under the theme “Linking People, Empowering Territories.”

From leadership labs to cultural immersion in Saint-Louis and Dakar, the experience reinforced the role of culture, governance, and storytelling in shaping transformative leadership. I shared our work through the Quality Education Drive, supporting 500+ students in Ondo State, Nigeria, and the Read, Eat & Learn Project, empowering children affected by insurgency with education, civic engagement, leadership, and life skills.

Committed to amplifying youth voices across the Global South and promoting global democracy through education and inclusive leadership.

Because the truth remains: Nobody is coming to save Africa but us.🌍✊🏾

Democracy can be learned in many places, including the big screen 🎬

These 5 films show how democracy is built, defended and sometimes fought for.

Which one would you add to the list? Tell us in the comments 👇

There’s a whole generation out here asking better questions, building civic tech, challenging power, organising communities, shaping policy, telling stories and finding new ways to make their voices count.

Young people are in the democracy space, and we’re not just here for the photo op.

Youth participation is not a favour to democracy
It is part of democracy. ✊🏾
When young people are given a seat at the table, they bring fresh ideas, bold perspectives and the energy needed to shape the future.

Our voices matter. Our participation matters. And our democracy is stronger when young people are actively involved.

Happy International Youth Day 2026! ❤️
I am delighted to have honoured the invitation by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Nigeria to a 2-day consultation on Nigerian Youth Democratic Participation, reflecting the work I’ve continued to champion around youth and democracy

I was honoured to join as a YouthLead representing Nigeria at the Community of Democracies and as a Youth Democracy Network Member a meaningful opportunity to contribute to conversations shaping the future of democracy in Nigeria.

Young people are not just the hope of democracy; we are active participants in shaping it today. And when we talk about inclusive governance, women and young people must be at the table not just in the audience. 🇳🇬❤️

Many thanks to our facilitators from Kenya @meg_muchoki @kefentsemkhari_ from South Africa 🇿🇦 and our Galaletsang from Botswana 🇧🇼

Democracy thrives when young people move from the sidelines to the decision-making table.
We just concluded a stakeholder validation meeting on expanding legislative participation through technology-enabled public hearings in Nigeria, and I’m honoured to have contributed as a distinguished YouthLead for the @communityofdemocracies and a @youthdemocracynetwork member.

This conversation reflects our collective commitment to strengthening democracy by empowering young people to actively shape the policies that define their future.

Kudos to @tunanihq for putting this together and many thanks to @youthdemocracynetwork for supporting democracy across the 🌏
