Join us in November for a 3 Day Mixed Media Portrait Drawing Workshop with the wonderful Chelsea Bard! This will be the final workshop of the year and final class of all in our current beautiful studio - as we will be moving studios in the new year. Help us end this season on a warm note.

Working with a model from life, students will hone their skills of accurate observation and conceptual knowledge to represent nature. Materials to be discussed and utilized will include charcoal, graphite, earth pigment pastels and pencils, chalk, and gouache paint. Students may select among this list to develop material relationships in the work that they feel most attracted to.

More info and registration at link in bio and below.

Join us Wednesday evenings in September & October for this 8 week Group Figure Composition class. Students will learn how to arrange multiple human figures within a single artwork to create a unified, dynamic, and readable scene. In the first two weeks we will begin by studying the value and color structures of historical paintings to build our vocabulary and understanding of complex, group figure compositions. We will then use the remaining six weeks to work with multiple, live, clothed models to create an interesting and engaging multi-figure oil painting. Students will learn to manage focal points, overlapping shapes, visual weight, and space to compose a compelling multi-figure narrative painting. Class size is limited to just 12 students - so grab your spot soon!

This will be our final weekly class offered in our current amazing studio. We will have to move at the end of the year. Don’t miss this chance to work in this ideal studio designed by @aliapainter specifically for working with the live model under beautiful light!

Thank you to all the students who came out for Zoe DuFour’s 4 Day Sculpting the Seated Pose workshop. Slab building is not for sissies, and you all rose to the challenge. We learned way more than just how to sculpt the pose. So much ceramic knowledge on clay bodies, moisture management, and firing know how were shared. Thank you @saypience for an incredible workshop and to our lovely model E for all your inspiration! taken in Alia Fine Art Studios by @aliafineartstudios
