Meet the artist of the show Cosmogram opening August 20, 5pm
Alix Philippe paints from personal memory — photographs, Posca pen sketches, and plein air oils made while travelling. She works in layers, shifting between techniques within a single canvas, so the landscapes arrive fragmented and lit from somewhere unspecified. The paintings sit between abstraction and figuration. They suggest a place without naming it, and hold to the question of what it means to belong somewhere. @alixphilippeartist by @alixphilippeartist
