❤️ taken in Paris, France by @almateagallery

Kabuse Sencha Yabukita - Wazuka, Kyoto, Japon
Gyokuro Goko - Wazuka, Kyoto, Japon
Matcha - Honzu Matcha, single cultivar Samidori - Sakata Matabei - Kumiyama-cho, Kyoto.

If a world’s exhibition could take place in just one place, it would be at the Alma Tea Gallery. Korean artists have exposed their creations with open hearts, whether working with wood, glass, bamboo, tea, or ceramics.

Thank you to Maria for discovering these talents on the other side of the world and for giving us this wonderful opportunity in Paris.

They’ve been preparing this wonderful exhibition for a year. “Connecting and being together”: In the COVID, a time of deep introspection during which they have a passion. A strong desire to come together around a common bond tea.

A huge thank you to the entire team for making the long trip and sharing your passions with us. Thank you to Bryan and Chloé for introducing us to this hidden side of their work and for winning over all our hearts—and our wallets

It was a day in June, at the beginning of a scorching summer, when I had the opportunity to present a tea gathering featuring Korean tea, craft, and food at a tea gallery in Paris’s 16th arrondissement. Although the temperature was close to 40°C, my heart felt surprisingly cool simply because I was finally able to share something I had spent so long preparing.

This gathering was more than an occasion to serve tea. It was my way of bringing together the seasons of Korea, the beauty of Korean crafts, and the experience of sharing food around the tea table. Every detail—from choosing each teaware piece to brewing the tea and pairing it with a small dish—was carefully considered so that each element could become part of one continuous story.

As the tea was poured, gentle aromas filled the room. Before speaking, the guests looked closely at the vessels in their hands, breathed in the fragrance, and then slowly took their first sip. Although we spoke different languages, we all shared the same rhythm around the tea table.

Whenever I introduce Korean tea abroad, I am reminded that tea is never truly understood through explanation alone. It is remembered through its warmth, its fragrance, and the moments shared over a single cup. I hope this gathering became someone’s first encounter with Korea, and for others, a summer memory they will carry with them for a long time.
