Mind Body Badass has been the biggest accomplishment of my life. But it did not come easy. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about entrepreneurship, it’s that it requires adaptability, commitment, patience, grit, and maybe a little stubbornness. 🤣⁣
⁣
I started teaching fitness back in 2012 in Los Angeles, at a local barre studio. I was working in television at the time, a recent USC Film School grad, and I felt lost, disconnected from myself, and chronically stressed. The career I’d fought so hard to achieve was making me miserable.⁣
⁣
Teaching fitness brought me joy and reminded me that my health should be a priority. I didn’t think it could ever turn into a career, but I knew I wasn’t happy. So in 2014 I moved to San Diego and began a deep dive into wellness. Healing myself made me want to learn everything about the body so I could help others, too.⁣
⁣
Naturally, as a Sagittarius will, I did it all. Spin, Lagree, Aerial Yoga, Paddleboard Yoga, and of course my 200 hr Yoga training in 2016. I taught full time for 4 years all over SD, at every studio I could, burning my candle at both ends. I was so, so broke. And tired in my bones.⁣
⁣
Covid provided a turning point. No longer able to teach, I pivoted yet again. I took a business course, read every book I could, and wrote down for the first time what my brand name would be: Mind Body Badass. But I still wasn’t sure what my angle was.⁣
⁣
In 2021, a gal emailed asking if I’d travel to Temecula to lead a private yoga class for her bachelorette party. And that, my friends, is when the lightbulb clicked. 🙌⁣
⁣
It’s hardly been an instant success. For the next three years I built a website by hand, taught private classes, and started weekly donation yoga at Sunset Cliffs. Once I had more bookings than I could handle, I assembled a team of the best teachers in SoCal.⁣
⁣
In 2024, I moved to Palm Springs to dream up the next phase of MBB. Me and my MBB baby are just getting started!⁣
⁣
Never give up and keep chasing your dreams, no matter how wild they may seem. It’s all possible. 💖⁣

A dream I had more than a decade ago just came true. 🥹✨⁣
⁣
I’ve been nominated for San Diego Magazine’s 2026 Celebrating Women Awards in the Fitness + Wellness – Rising Star category!!⁣
⁣
When I first started teaching yoga, I remember dreaming about someday being featured in San Diego Magazine. To now be recognized by one of the city’s most prominent publications feels incredibly surreal—and especially meaningful because I still feel like my journey, and Mind Body Badass’, is only beginning. 🧘🏻‍♀️⁣
⁣
San Diego will always be MBB’s home base. It’s where I completed my yoga teacher training, found my voice as an instructor, and built a community through years of Donation Yoga at Sunset Cliffs. 🌊⁣
⁣
That community became part of something even bigger in 2024, when the City shut down my classes and I joined a legal battle to protect outdoor yoga in San Diego. What began as a simple class by the ocean grew into a fight for community, culture, and First Amendment rights—and became the catalyst for me to build MBB into the multi-city wellness company it is today.⁣
⁣
This nomination feels bigger than me. It belongs to everyone who has practiced with us by the ocean, booked us for a meaningful celebration, supported this business, worked alongside me, or believed in the idea that wellness can be joyful, beautiful, and life-giving.⁣
⁣
If Mind Body Badass has ever helped you feel more grounded, connected, alive, or even a little more badass, I would be so grateful for your vote. 💖⁣
⁣
Voting closes Sunday, July 26.⁣

Thank you for being part of this journey. 🙏🏼⁣

Every time I roll out my mat at Sunset Cliffs lately, it feels a little more meaningful. 🌊⁣
⁣
What began as a simple donation-based yoga class has become part of an internationally covered legal battle over our right to gather, teach, move, and build community in San Diego’s public spaces. I’m one of the two plaintiffs challenging the City’s Yoga Ban with @namasteveyoga, standing alongside this community to help protect free gatherings for everyone.⁣
⁣
The case is still unfolding. Believe it or not, the City is still fighting us even after a federal appeals court ruled that teaching yoga is protected speech under the First Amendment. But through all of it, we’re still here—practicing together, watching the pelicans fly by, and continuing a tradition that has brought peace and connection to locals and visitors alike for years.⁣
⁣
That community is what makes these classes so magical and worth protecting. 🙏✨⁣
⁣
I’ll be teaching at Sunset Cliffs twice this week, and I would truly love to see you there:⁣

Sunset Cliffs is just one of those places where I can breathe deeper and my problems feel smaller. 🌊 It’s hard to explain how magical it is until you go—it’s somewhere you HAVE to experience if you’re in San Diego. ⁣
⁣
Yoga at the Cliffs has been a longstanding tradition in the city, spanning back over a decade. I’m grateful and proud to be part of a collective of teachers who have chosen this space to offer donation yoga classes for the public. I started teaching here in 2021 and five years later I still find myself in awe of the beauty and peace of these gatherings every time I return to the mat. ⁣
⁣
If you’ve been meaning to come practice with us, I’d love to see you tomorrow—I’m teaching Friday, July 10 at 11:00am! It’s donation-based, all levels, and one of my favorite hours of the week.⁣

Have you ever tried Aerial Yoga? You use a fabric hammock to explore stretching, strength-building, and even hanging upside down. 🙃 It’s one of my favorite ways to yoga!⁣
⁣
One of the reasons I love it so much is that it invites you to experience yoga movement in a completely different way. It’s playful, surprising, and actually pretty accessible for anyone to learn. And it feels SO good to invert like this—I swear it helps my body release tension like nothing else.⁣
⁣
I teach Aerial Yoga occasionally at @trilogysanctuary in La Jolla, and it’s always such a beautiful practice to return to! ☁️ ⁣
⁣
👉 What do you think of Aerial Yoga?⁣

Happy Summer Solstice + International Day of Yoga! 🧘🏻‍♀️☀️💖⁣
⁣
Across many cultures, the Solstice is seen as a celebration of abundance, vitality, and the life-giving power of the sun. It’s also the longest day of sunlight in the year!⁣
⁣
I often take for granted the fact that my job enables me to spend a lot of time outdoors teaching and leading events—my former life was one where I had a fancy title working in TV but meant I sat in a chair all day, in offices that sometimes didn’t even have windows. If that’s your work environment, too, I feel you. 🙏⁣
⁣
Let the Solstice be a reminder to heed the call of the sun and go outside whenever you can.⁣
⁣
Being in nature is healing. Get sunshine in your eyes. Listen to the birds. Breathe in the fresh air. The most beautiful parts of life are free. 🌱⁣
⁣
P.S. Footage is from a Pilates + Sound Bath event in Feb with MBB Coach @lolagarcia_25 in Indio! Should we do another one soon? ⁣

Having tight hip flexors is one of the most common complaints I hear, and it’s one of the most fixable! 🧘🏻‍♀️

These are my favorite beginner-friendly Yoga poses (with variations) to open up your hips and release tension. Yoga blocks help. And yes the outfit I’m wearing is from Amazon (you know your girl).

👉 Save this for your next practice and let me know which pose was the one you needed most

P.S. If you’re a runner (I’m trying to become one again 😅), a desk worker, or travel/drive a lot, your hips need this.
