MUY by Other Latin Art (O.L.A.) — What an unforgettable day!

MUY was nothing short of spectacular, the first large-scale pop-up exhibition celebrating Latin and Hispanic creators in Australia, and what a celebration it was! 💙

Held at the iconic Marrickville Town Hall @innerwestcouncil , we transformed the space into a living canvas filled with colour, rhythm, and emotion.

With 38 visual artists, 6 DJs, and 2 live musicians, MUY became a vibrant meeting ground for art, sound, and comunidad, a place where stories of identity, memory, and belonging came alive. From paintings and sculptures to music and movement, every moment of MUY reflected the strength and diversity of Latin and Hispanic creativity in Australia.

To all the artists, organisers, sponsors, and partners who made this dream a reality, thank you.

Last October, we celebrated our roots in a big way, with art, culture, music, and connection!

We organized MUY together with an amazing team, people who love art and bring their genuine energy to exclusively giving voice to Latino American souls, from those born here to those who migrated to those are connected with our roots.

This vibrant pop-up exhibitions was one of the largest celebrating Latinx & Hispanic creativity: from paintings and sculptures to music, food, and conversation, MUY was a space to connect cultures, and bring our community together.

We started with 15 artists, then 28, and by the time we rolled press and marketing, 46 artists from across Australia (Canberra, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney) were part of MUY!

Huge thanks to:

Gracias, de corazón 🩵 @lagaleria_au • Hispana Expo

After 8 incredible months, Hispana Expo has come to a close, a project that began as a dream and grew into a powerful space of connection, creativity, and cultural pride in Sydney Australia.

As one of the Founders and Creative behind La Galería / Hispana Expo, I poured my heart into building something Australia was missing: a platform for Spanish-speaking artists to be seen, celebrated, and supported.

This project became a shared space, made real by every artist, guest, press, and collaborator who showed up, shared their voice, and believed in this vision.

💫 Nov 2024 - Jun 2025
🗣️ 12+ Hispanic & Latin artists
⚡️11 Art Sales
📍 Countless conversations
❤️ One united community

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially @macchiarto_theroom / @macchiatosydney to believe in this, our exhibiting artists, community partners, and every person who walked through the magical. This was a statement of presence, identity, and Latin cultural happiness.

Always celebrate our roots! ❤️‍🔥

There was something really beautiful about the energy in the room yesterday at “Somos Expo” @otherlatinart

Seeing so many Latin American artists sharing the same space, each with their own voice, style and story, was something really special. There was so much generosity in the room. People taking the time to connect, ask questions, support each other’s work and simply celebrate being together.

I was honoured to be invited to curate the music alongside the Femme Forward Collective @herspinonthings & @red_head_that_loves_records . To contribute a small part to a project with so much intention behind it was a real privilege.

A huge congratulations to @andrear_ar_ for dreaming this up and making it happen. You created something that felt genuine, thoughtful and needed. Thank you for trusting us to be part of it.

More spaces like this, porfavor 🙏❤️✨ taken in Goodspace Gallery by @andrear_ar_

Hola I’m Andrea, 🇨🇴na en 🇦🇺! These past months have been filled with art, connection, and deep inspiration!

I co-created La Galería exclusively for Latin & Hispanic artists, exhibiting their artworks in Sydney. The theme was ‘Hispana Expo’ , I’m grateful for each Latinx artist, each artwork, each conversation, and every Saturday we shared, it truly became that.

Celebrating our roots: colour, memory, resistance, and creation. Come close this beautiful chapter with us, surrounded by art, community, and heart, in the wall of Macchiato Cafe!

See you! 💫
