Join us on Wednesday 11th November as we welcome the team from Selvapiana, Tuscany. 🍷 Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, just north east of Florence, Selvapiana is one of the most historic and respected wine estates in the Chianti Rufina region. The estate, which has been in the family of Francesco Giuntini since 1827, has become synonymous with elegance, authenticity and a deep respect for the land. Federico Giuntini Masseti now runs the property just north of the town of Pontassieve. The estate comprises 250 hectares, 60 of which are under vine (95% Sangiovese), 36 hectares are dedicated to olive groves, while woodland covers the rest. Most of the vineyards are west facing, though Selvapiana’s prized Bucerchiale vineyard faces south-west. Selvapiana produce wines that beautifully express the unique character of Chianti Rufina, where cooler temperatures and higher elevations give rise to remarkable freshness, finesse and complexity. Today, the estate continues to champion traditional Tuscan winemaking alongside organic vineyard practises, crafting wines that balance vibrant red fruit, delicate floral notes, savoury spice and refined tannins. We are delighted to welcome them, and you, for this very special dinner. Set menu with paired wines is priced at £95 per person Beef carpaccio, rocket, olive oil, pumpkin seed - Hare ragu, potato gnocchi, pecorino - Roast pork belly, salsa verde, hasselback, smoked anchovy butter - Tiramisu, cantucci, coffee mascarpone Dietary requirements can be catered to with advanced notice. All wines poured throughout the dinner will be available to purchase from the retail shop. We can’t wait to welcome you all. You can book through the link in bio. 🙏 @francesca_pulixi 🎨 by @ardfern_edinburgh
It’s a sandwich. Just a sandwich. But it’s so much more than that. Created in collaboration with Chef and long time friend of the bakery Roberta Hall-McCarron the story of the sandwich begins with Ardferns chicken skin chilli crunch. From the first taste, we knew this needed a sandwich worthy of its deliciousness so Connor and Ben and the team got to work. We’ve taken St Brides Roosters - heritage breed cockerels slow reared for 6 months - steamed, braised and shredded and mixed with Ardferns chicken skin chilli crunch, a touch of mayonnaise and finished with some crunchy pickled carrot and lettuce. That’s it. Pop it on one of our Ciabatta rolls and done. Delicious. Like all the best things this was about doing something fun and its here for a great time, not a long time. We’ve got 100 birds, when The Rooster is done, it’s done. Available from Monday 2nd November at Ardfern & our cafe. Wholesale customers - available to order via our portal tomorrow for delivery from Monday! by @ardfern_edinburgh
I really don’t throw the word “best” around when it comes to food, but this Sunday roast in Edinburgh deserves ALL the praise. 🥩 @ardfern_edinburgh 📍 Leith, Edinburgh Ardfern is a much loved all day restaurant in Edinburgh, and after hearing fellow foodies rave about their Sunday roast, I obviously had to see what all the fuss was about. I’ve had my fair share of Sunday roasts around Edinburgh, and I can confidently say this one is sensational! Judging by the first few seconds of this video, I wasn’t the only one having a moment… The beef rump cap was cooked to perfection, and the ox cheek Yorkshire pudding? Insane! Could give me that on its own and I’d be a very happy woman. Now, I take my potatoes seriously. I love them in all shapes and forms, so call me a tattie connoisseur if you will, but when I say I didn’t miss roasties here, that REALLY means something. Their iconic hash browns are the reason. Crispy and crunchy on the outside, lovely and soft inside, with just enough texture to make every bite a little bit of an event. And the seasoning! So often potatoes get a lazy sprinkle of salt and that’s your lot, but these were seasoned properly, all the way through. I could happily eat a plate of these on their own. No sauce needed. The veg were brilliant too. I think they change it with the seasons, and whatever they were doing with ours was working. Full of flavour and adding something to the roast, rather than just sitting there looking colourful. You won’t find any sad, unseasoned boiled veg on this plate. Best Sunday roast in Edinburgh. I said what I said. They’re serving it every Sunday from 10am to 5.30pm, and I’d recommend booking a few weeks ahead. A little planning required, but trust me, your future Sunday self will thank you.🥩 Best Sunday Roast in Edinburgh | Edinburgh Foodie | Places to eat in Edinburgh #sundayroastedinburgh #edinburghfoodie #visitedinburgh by @ardfern_edinburgh
On Tuesday 3rd November we are delighted to invite you to an evening with Damascene Wines, one of South Africa’s most exciting and distinctive wine producers. Jean Smit and David Curl founded Damascene back in 2017. They were united by three passions; the pursuit of excellence, a spirit of discovery, and the desire to preserve nature through sustainable agriculture. With a focus on elegance, purity and minimal intervention, the wines from Damascene offer a beautiful balance of Old World finesse and the vibrancy and individuality of South Africa’s Western Cape vineyards. This is thoughtful winemaking, crafted with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality. We are thrilled to welcome Damascene back to Ardfern. Winemaker Jean Smit will be joining us on the evening to talk you through the story of Damascene and each of the wines we’ll be showcasing on the night. Set menu with paired wines is priced at £95 per person BBQ king oyster mushroom, brown butter hollandaise, hazelnut - Baked scallop, caper, parsley, seaweed - Lamb chop, fregula, mint, tardivo - Gorgonzola dolce, onion tarte tatin Dietary requirements can be catered to with advanced notice. All wines poured throughout the dinner will be available to purchase from the retail shop. Bookings through link in bio. 🍷 @francesca_pulixi 🎨 by @ardfern_edinburgh
ROAST SEASON IS HERE!! 🥩 We’ve had people turning up as early as 9am on a Thursday asking for a Sunday roast. 🤯 We can’t quite make that happen. What we can do, however, is start serving them a little earlier on Sundays. So, from now on, Sunday roasts will be available from 10am. A roast at 10am sounds crazy when we say it out loud. But we’re in the business of giving the people what they want. So here we are. 🤝 by @ardfern_edinburgh
We’re very excited to announce our Magic Dinner Series. 💫 Over the coming months, we’ll be cooking alongside some amazing chefs from across the UK to raise money for Magic Breakfast — a charity working with schools across the country to help end morning hunger as a barrier to education. Magic Breakfast provides nutritious breakfasts to children and young people who need them, helping them start the school day ready to learn. 20% of every ticket sold across the series will go directly to the charity. We’ll share more about each dinner closer to the date, including the menu and a link to book. First up is @rosiemaguire1996 — bookings for her dinner go live at 5pm tonight. @francesca_pulixi 🎨 by @ardfern_edinburgh
