My very first single is out! On SoundCloud now (link in the bio), everywhere very soon🫶🏾

I want to say thank you to @_jezreel99 for honoring my random ass venture to make music and producing a cool ass beat. I really needed to say this, to feel this and think through this song and it’s so special that you made that happen. Thank you @izqueerdo for lending me your talents for this shoot! Thank you Olivia, shar, Leo and Diana for being so yourselves and making cool things that inspire me and also showing me what it’s like to dance, move and live so freely. Thank you to my mom for always encouraging me and making all my ideas feel tangible. Thank you to my dad for singing to me and playing me his tracks on the car radio. Thank you to my favorite New Yorker, for having conversations with me that changed my perspective on my art and its importance. Thank you to everyone who’s ever encouraged me or asked me about my djing or made me feel like the things I made matter. I’m super excited to venture into this next chapter with a new way to create. It feels so good to have something to say and to say it. Thank you to every lover I’ve ever had, for teaching me a little bit about who I am and what I want and who you are. Happy birthday to me and happy birth day to my song.

I hope that this libra season you hold your dreams and love in your hands, and that you share it without fear. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @areweon

Hey hey. So we’ve decided to switch some things around and show ‘Rafiki’ at our next screening on Thursday, September 17th.

More news soon on our local films screening, but in the meantime we would love to see you next week to gather around this tender movie about two young women, one unexpected connection, and a summer that changes everything. Free admission and starting at 7:30pm as usual! RSVP in bio💚

Last screening, we planned a drag show for pride month! We’re so happy with the turnout, the beautiful drag performances, a raw DJ and that we got to share the moment with our people. Thank you to everyone who has come to multiple screenings, invited your friends, reposted something or showed up these past few months of Common Threads. See you in two weeks, rsvp link and movie title coming soon!
