Aria Ixchel (b. 1999, Guanajuato, Mexico; based in Florence) is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, poetry, sound, and immersive installation. Her work explores the intersections between collective experience, contemporary imaginary and authenticity through visual and sensory narratives. Rooted in sensitivity to inner and outer landscapes, her practice is driven by an ongoing search for the most authentic self.

Este mes pude experimentar la fotografía a través de una extensión que la curiosidad me empujó a explorar: fotografía a través del arte del grabado.

En Junio tuve la oportunidad de ir a África por primera vez en mi vida y las fotografías capturadas ahí significaron de verdad muchísimo para mí, sentía que una impresión digital no era suficiente para transmitir su esencia, y después de una visita a @studio46barcelona, mi curiosidad despertó, plantándome la semilla de un posible medio que podría ayudarme a comunicar lo que buscaba. No tenía idea de cómo hacerlo y, a través de una residencia de arte en este lugar tan mágico, @filosom, @yairrg, Leo y el maestro Virgil, me apoyaron a descubrir infinidad de posibilidades creativas y finalmente pude llevar mi fotografía a un medio que me involucrara mucho más en el proceso. Quería tocar y sentir, ser una con la obra, como su mismo concepto lo propone, unificando la dualidad y reconociendo a todos sus elementos como parte de una misma esencia.

Es un honor para mi compartir que las obras creadas durante esta residencia fueron aceptadas en un Open Call para ser exhibidas en Torino, dentro de @theothersartfair junto con @maxygallery a finales de este mes.

Un efecto mariposa de los detalles que van construyendo nuestra realidad. Cada paso, como cada partícula, cuentan para que lo que hoy es, sea.

Three chronological posts, not only about soccer, but about the connection experienced through it. And what better time than now.

In the midst of researching what a human experience truly means, soccer has been quite present, of course through the World Cup, and with different events around.

I was lucky to be at the right time and space for Paris winning the Champions League last May 29th, surrounded by people I love, and many others I had never met before. We could feel the streets vibrating. The air we were breathing was full of emotion, a tension that at one moment exploded into complete joy (and yes, later on a little bit in chaos as well).

When humans feel authentically, and allow themselves to do so collectively and with awareness, life can be felt. Air alive!

São Tomé, Africa, 2026.
Nature, once again, as an analogy.

These flowers and fruits, originally from Southeast Asia and South America, learned to adapt to entirely different environments. In this tropical climate, they found themselves perfectly at ease, naturally discovering a new habitat. It reminds me of many of us who are in the process of finding our true home.

A quiet reminder that, when we learn to navigate ourselves with kindness, and meet others who support that same intention, we become able to adapt to the conditions we are in. We are not far from home when we carry within us the elements needed to flourish again.

Even away from our roots, we can bloom, if we are in the right conditions, and if we learn to listen carefully to what those conditions truly are, just as the botanical life on this wonderful island did.

São Tomé, Africa, 2026.
Nature, once again, as an analogy.

Today, after powerful experiences (some of them somehow “expected”, many more not at all haha), I return home with a tide of emotions, thoughts, and as many answers as new questions.

São Tomé, among many other things, thought me that we are the fertile soil, and every experience we go through, becomes the climate that allows us to grow.

In the process of grounding everything I’ve got the chance to lived, I return home filled with inspiration, and with a beautiful sense of responsibility to share what this wonderful island has taught me.

“A vibrant energy, connected to herself and the people around her.”

I truly feel blessed and deeply grateful. ¡Qué isla, caray!

‘La belleza de la incertidumbre’
ICM Photography. The Vessel, New York, April 2026.

This piece is the first from the collection I’m now working at, exploring constant change and the beauty found not in having control over things, but rather in how we choose to perceive and face uncertainty.

The technique of ICM (intentional camera movement) has become more and more present in how I’ve experiencing photography during my last travels, it became a tool for honoring the figurative magic of photography while delving into a much deeper realm beyond the visible.

I’m honored to share that this piece has been selected to be exhibited in a few days at @nonfungibleconference in Lisbon, and I can’t wait to experience it in person, surrounded by so many talented and inspiring artists.

“Where Currents Meet”, exhibida durante el Festival Un Sueño Digital, Ciudad de México, 2025.

Importante adjuntar al archivo 20 25 está surreal bendición de realidad.

El año pasado, un alma muy especial me dijo en mi cumpleaños “este será el mejor año de tu vida”. Al no decir “uno de los mejores”, sino adjuntándole el peso de •el MEJOR•, debo confesar que más que emocionarme me puse algo nerviosa, pensando “qué quedará a los demás entonces?” Haha

Un año después y con esta exhibición como el cierre de ese ciclo, justo un día antes de mi cumpleaños, entiendo a que se refería.
No es que se tratara solo de estos 365 días, sino de todo lo que viene a partir de ellos, todo lo que nace de haber plantado estas poderosísimas semillas.
El 13 de diciembre del 2025, tuve el honor de cumplir uno de mis sueños, exhibir un pedacito de aquello que me apasiona en la tierra de mis raíces, en el país que llevo y llevaré siempre en la sangre; mi chingonsísimo México.
Estar rodeada de la familia que me vio crecer y de aquella que he ido construyendo a través de cada decisión, fue lo que cabría en la definición infinita de algo mágico.
Empecé el 2025 sin saber que podría a corto plazo compartir creaciones artísticas, y, a días de terminar el ciclo, cierro el año con esta mi quinta exhibición / presentación Internacional, comenzando con Florencia, seguido de China, Suiza, Chicago y el broche de oro: ¡México! 🤍

Esta vida es una total aventura esperando a ser descubierta por los ojos correctos, a su tiempo perfecto. Independientemente de cuál sea su forma, si de algo estoy segura, es de que dando los pasos con amor, a mi misma, a mis pasiones, a mi gente y a todo lo que suma esta realidad, entonces, incluido su caos: todo está bien.

Gracias especiales e infinitas a @waitandhopefoundation @sinbadthesailor7 @keigowda_ @abrahamyhael y a cada pieza que ha sumado a esta surreal y tangible fantasía ✨
