Not my typical portrait, however, I really love the piece and enjoyed working on it. This was a birthday gift to a friend, Deepankar 🫶🏽 by @artsydan_

It’s been 5 months since I’ve finished a piece!! I’m having a love/hate relationship with her but she’s finished and that in itself is a feat!!

“Big Mama” is a tangible whisper of the love that shaped me. This piece is a tribute to my grandmother, affectionately known in my family as, Big Mama. This is the woman who raised me when my parents couldn’t, the unwavering beacon of love in my life. She passed away when I was 18 and left such a void. This work is a deeply personal act of remembrance, a way to keep her spirit alive forever.

“The Unveiling”

My first self portrait!! I feel as though I’m on a journey of healing and emergence. The torn paper symbolizes layers of depression, anxiety and trauma, barriers that obscure my true self. The shift from grayscale to vibrant color reflects my movement from darkness to self-acceptance. I’m ripping away all those layers to reveal the beautiful, loving, resilient person I’ve always been.
