Apparently visibility is the word of the season….😖 In all seriousness though noticed recently I have had a few new people here on this page so wanted to slowing reintroduce myself for those who are new here 👋🏾 by @asklychee

On 26th September @sulibreaks and I celebrated 11 years of marriage sometimes I am just in awe of how short but long 11 years are, we are still very early in our long marriage God willing but honestly all glory be to God.

I talk about how the most important career decision is who you partner with and I stand ten toes down on that!!

That weekend was exactly what I needed and what @sulibreaks deserved. It was my year to plan and I was petrified cos Suli last year went overboard so I had to do the most but from a sentimental lens. We went down memory lane and I booked the flat we started our relationship 18 years ago it was crazy going back in time! Then we had the illustrious @chefkhudu whip up a storm for us with all @sulibreaks favourites! Highly recommend!! Not one for affectionate Instagram posts but that weekend was exactly what we needed in this world that is so dark and sad sometimes. Thank you Babi for loving all of me! by @asklychee

Let’s talk about making millions. 💰

Because nobody really tells you how wealth is built beyond getting a good job, working hard and saving your money.

From equity and company exits to investing and the reality of black tax, there’s a lot about building wealth that we don’t talk about openly enough.

I’m sharing what I’ve learnt from being in the room, making money mistakes, and understanding the difference between earning well and actually building wealth.

If you’re serious about changing your financial future, this one is for you.

Tonight, we’re talking about what it really takes to build a career that lasts. 🖤

I’ll be joining UK Black Business Week for Black Media, Culture & Sport to share a few lessons from my journey across music, business and building opportunities. Excited to speak with my fellow panelists.

Looking forward to the conversations. See you at ExCeL London! ✨

I think we’ve been taught to keep our salaries to ourselves, but honestly, who does that really benefit? Because sometimes the difference between what you’re offered and what someone else is offered has nothing to do with how good you are at your job.

I wrote about a real situation many moons ago, where a man was offered £100k and I was offered significantly less, and what it taught me about how these decisions are made behind closed doors. It’s one of those things that makes you question how much you don’t know about the world of work.

Really happy to share that I’ll be serving on the Eurobest 2026 Jury.

Eurobest is part of the LIONS family, alongside Cannes Lions, so this is a pretty special one for me.

Looking forward to seeing some of the brilliant work coming out of Europe, meeting the other jurors and being part of the conversation around what’s moving the industry forward.

If you’ve created work you think deserves to be recognised, entries are open until 15 October. Go get your work in. 👏🏾

📚 My recs!

I’m a highly ambitious woman. I like big goals, building things, doing meaningful work and seeing how far I can take an idea.

But I’m also actively trying not to burn myself into the ground in the process.

These are 10 books that have shaped how I think about ambition, money, work, boundaries, leadership, time and perhaps most importantly, how to build a life I actually want to live.

1. So Good They Can’t Ignore You — Cal Newport
Why “follow your passion” isn’t always the best career advice!

2. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant — Eric Jorgenson
A different way of thinking about wealth, leverage, freedom and building a life on your own terms.

3. Everything That Remains — Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus
A reminder that having more isn’t necessarily the same as having more of what matters. Loved this!

4. Radical Candor — Kim Scott
There is a way you can be direct and kind especially in the workplace!

5. No Rules Rules — Reed Hastings & Erin Meyer
If you are interested in knowing how to be a rockstar in your team.

6. The Jewish Phenomenon — Steven Silbiger
Taught me a lot about how wealth is built in the Jewish community.

7. When the Body Says No — Gabor Maté
How people pleasing can lead to auto-immune disease

8. 12 Months to $1 Million — Ryan Daniel Moran
How to turn an idea into money, practical steps albeit the book is slightly outdated!

9. The 10X Rule — Grant Cardone
A reminder to think bigger but also to understand the level of action big goals actually require.

10. Never Split the Difference — Chris Voss
One of the best books I’ve read on negotiation, and useful far beyond the boardroom.

If you’re highly ambitious but don’t want burnout to be the price of your success, save this. 🫶🏾

And tell me: what’s one book that has changed the way you think about ambition, work or life?

I’ve been thinking about personal brands a lot lately.

Because… did we all accidentally create jobs for ourselves? 😂

The whole point was meant to be more freedom, more opportunities, more control over what you do.

But now there’s this pressure to constantly post, be visible, share the wins, build the audience, keep people interested…

And at some point you have to ask: am I building a business, or am I just building a very demanding Instagram account?

Anyway, I wrote about it properly over on Office Hours.

If this is something you’ve been thinking about too, the full piece is on Substack — link in bio. by @asklychee

What happens when two senior women who have spent years navigating corporate organisations come together and chat honestly?

Well, you’re about to find out!

Tobi and I are coming together to talk about what it really takes to build ambitious careers, blend family life and still build a life that feels good beyond the job title.

There is no cheat code. A lot of it comes down to getting really honest about what you want, what matters to you and what you’re willing to put in to make it work.

But there’s a lot more to it than that. And we’re going there.

Our joint Substack conversation is coming very soon, but first, we want to hear from you.

What do you actually want to ask us? What are the conversations women are having privately that you rarely get to hear successful women answer honestly? Leave it in the comments 💜 by @asklychee

My sisters know I’m going to tell them the truth whether they asked for it or not 😂

Because sometimes you don’t need another podcast, book or LinkedIn post telling you to “find your purpose.”

You need someone to sit you down and say:
Girl. You’re miserable. And I think you already know why.
The hardest part isn’t always figuring out what you want.

Sometimes it’s admitting that the thing you spent years working towards isn’t the thing you want anymore.
And that’s okay.
You’re allowed to outgrow the dream.
You’re allowed to want a completely different life, even if your current one looks fucking fantastic on Instagram.

I’m thinking this series needs to continue because, honestly, I have A LOT of things I’d tell my sisters privately 😂

If you’re liking these, let me know. I’ve got plenty more scenarios. by @asklychee

Your 30s are not the time to disappear.
You just get more intentional about where you show up, who you spend time with, and what you’re building.

Go to the dinner.
Take the meeting.
Get on the boat.
Have the conversation.
Make the connection.
Have a life. Build a life. Be outside.

And yes, sometimes the best things happen when you’re not sitting at your desk. 🛥️ by @asklychee

Tim Cook resigning has made me think a lot about my career.

Realising career isn’t one decision, it’s hundreds. Some will be right. Some will be right for a while and then quietly stop being right. Some will teach you exactly what you don’t want, which is worth more than it sounds.

That’s the part nobody mentions at the start. You spend years trying to make the correct career decisions, and careers aren’t built out of certainty. They’re built out of decisions.

Some of the learnings that have spanned my 20 year career…take the bits you want, leave the bits you don’t …
