A cover reveal? For a book that I wrote? Someone pinch me.

I’m beyond excited to show you the cover of my debut adult fantasy novel, Those We See in the Dark!! @kei_ella_ did an absolutely amazing job and I still can’t get over how perfect it is 🥰 The colours, the character art, the thematic elements… AHH!!

And now you can get your hands on it! Ebooks can be found on Amazon, and paperbacks are in the process of being added to most major retailers. You can add it to your tbr on Goodreads too 👀

Prepare yourself for myths reawakening, mysteries unravelling, sisterhood, a slow-burn (no spice) subplot romance, and As*assins Creed vibes.

When you’re in a spooky forest but it doesn’t matter because cuddles >>>

I commissioned this scene of Anaís and Eoghan from my book, Those We See in the Dark, and to say I’m overjoyed with how it turned out is an understatement. @millyillus captured them perfectly and I adore it so much 🥺💕

If you like myths, mystery, and character driven epic fantasy with a side of romance…stay tuned. TWSITD releases fall ‘25 👀

Happy first birthday to Those We See in the Dark 💕

I don’t have a lot to say today, but I’m supremely grateful for all the friends the journey of writing this book has brought into my life.

For the battle hardened girls with weary hearts, this one is for you. by @aspoonfuloflanguage

I was so excited when I realised I’d be able to use a chapter out of a book I wrote for a ‘woo its my birthday’ post. I was kind of hoping I’d get a cutesy quote or a funny quote, but alas I got this 😂

Much like life, sometimes things don’t turn out the way I want them to. Which is…apt. I think this first line describes my walk from 32 to 33 pretty well.

Forward steps aren’t always pleasant. They can be painful, unnerving, terrifying even. While I wouldn’t recommend carrying on for the sake of it — reflection and reorienting your path are highly valuable skills — just because things are difficult doesn’t mean things are wrong.

That’s where I’ve found myself these past few months. Life has been difficult, but not wrong. Frustrating and painful, but worth fighting for.

I don’t know what 33 will bring, but so long as my endurance grows stronger and my relationship with God deeper, I think it’ll end up all right. by @aspoonfuloflanguage

What’s that tremor in the ground? Is it...rocket engines? Sandracers? An earthquake? Or is it...a new Borderlands author?

Borderlands Publishing Co. is proud to welcome Robin Rakkeby to the dark side. You know her as one of our editors and behind-the-scenes tech wizard, but now she’s crossing the outpost to the author side! Already an accomplished indie in her own right (her debut Those We See in the Dark was a Realm Award finalist!), she joins Borderlands’ roster with her sophomore novel A Marriage of Inconvenience, releasing in Spring 2027. Aside from the information already in her bio, keep reading for some fun facts about our resident wizard of whimsy.

Robin...

Enjoys calculated risk in her outdoor activities, and has gone whitewater rafting, ice climbing. and caving.
Has been ruled “most whimsical” at her aerospace engineering job.
Grew twelve inches in two years (middle school was rough).
Has lived in three countries...and traveled to twenty.
Would live entirely off strawberry banana smoothies if given the chance.
Once got a monstera plant from IKEA with the express purpose of seeing how long it would survive without water. (It outlasted her patience.)

You can find her and her books at @aspoonfuloflanguage , and stay tuned for more about A Marriage of Inconvenience! by @aspoonfuloflanguage
