If you haven’t heard from me in while, this is one of the biggest reasons why…

It was nothing short of a honor being invited to participate in this years #celebritychefbrunch for @mealsonwheelsde

It was so fulfilling in every way.

The event was for 800 people, raising money to feed 6000+ seniors in the area. I literally almost cried thinking about the impact I got to make in that many people’s lives.

On top of that, to be considered a “celebrity chef”
& be in the room with so much talent from across the country was amazing already, but to
-the guy who came back for thirds
-the multiple people who sent friends over saying “you have to try that biscuit bite”
-the multiple people who came back to tell me it was the best dish in the room
-the 50+ people who shared their email to join my Substack

You all are the real MVP’s to me.

This world is so hard & heavy right now.
It drains the tank so so fast. But nothing fills it faster than making tangible impact right in your community.

The fastest, simplest things we can all do right now are
-stop assuming the worst in each other
-acknowledge each others existence; make eye contact, wave, smile
-ask “wha do you need?”

Life is crazy and you never know where you’re gonna end up… this particular year led to Next Level Baker on @foodclubfox 🥳🥳🥳

I never saw this coming but forever grateful for this opportunity.
☘️To go to Ireland
👩‍🍳To meet 11 AMAZING other bakers
🎄And to say I fed @gordongram and @candacenelson is INCREDIBLE.

🎁 To also have a second chance to show @carlaphall who I am as a Chef and how much I’ve grown the last five years is the biggest gift of them all.

✨OUT DECEMBER 4TH 9PM ✨
I absolutely can’t wait for you all to see it

A day late cause it’s me + industry life 😅
(he’s not on instagram anyway)
but doesn’t matter because no relationship is built on a single day. It took 1392 days to get to “I do” & another 3654 days since.

10+ years of consistent commitment. Not because we have to but because you’re my favorite person & life is so much better with you in it 💕

I’ve learned so much this past decade but some of the most important take-aways are:

1) Trust. Everything else branches from it.
2) Kindness. Let it lead you.
3) Pick someone who is good to you & good for you.
4) Fun is important! Don’t let it fall behind.
5) Sacrifice is necessary, use wisely.
6) Family is a big part of the equation.
7) Perfection not required, just be 1% better each day.
8) Physical touch can solve a lot, but not everything.
9) Mean what you say, say what you mean.
10) Pick & choose your battles, it’s a marathon not a sprint.

To every person that has helped us get this far we are forever grateful. And to my life-long best friend, cheers to the next decade of adventure & memories 😘

I really never knew if I’d find a way to love baking again, to rebuild my confidence in the kitchen. But the last 6 years (since I got laid off during Covid) has shown me being a Pastry Chef means way more than a life-consuming job in some fancy hotel. It’s exploring & experimenting in a world where art & science come together to create literal magic.
The magic to make joy & memories tangible for others.
It’s literally the coolest thing ever.
