đŸ’„ BIG NEWS! đŸ’„

We are thrilled to announce that Legend is officially a Certified B Corporation!!

What does this mean? It means that we went through an extensive assessment and certification process, to measure ways in which our governance, structure, and practices meet high standards for environmental and social impact.

We are now officially part of a world-wide community of companies that are all working together to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable economy. We are proud to be among the small handful of wine wholesalers globally who are B Corp Certified.

The biggest takeaway from this process, though, is how much further we have to go. We’ve always been attracted to the B Corp assessment not only as a way to hold ourselves accountable, but as a blueprint for learning the ways we can do better!

Link in bio to learn more about the process and what we’ve done to certify. Here’s to building a better world together, bit by bit. 🌟🌟🌟

2025 vintage releases from Sierra Reed are here!

We are very excited to have Sierra’s Bambina Nebbiolo back for the first time in five years! Restocks on the estate Sem and Knife Edge Syrah, and the 2025 Release of White Heart Riesling.

Sierra’s labels are always a topic of conversation. They are striking adaptations from the 1937 Nicolas burgundy allocation, back when the OG Paris wine store was still a G. The featured artist is Jacques Darcy. The only outlier is the Lessons Semillon, which takes all of its inspiration from the land. SwipeâžĄïž to see ‘em!!

[ID: Winemaker Sierra Reed is pictured working in her winery, with the words “New Arrivals: Reed” imposed on the photo. The next 5 slides show the wine labels from some of the Reed wines, including Nebbiolo, Semillon, Riesling, and Shiraz, with notes about where the names of the wines come from, as well as two photographs of Sierra Reed walking in her vineyards.] by @auswinelegends

Sailor Seeks Horse is back with fresh 2024 vintage releases of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir! Swipe through to learn more about this special winery.

[ID: Paul Lipscombe walking through his Sailor Seeks Horse vineyard with his dog.]

Sailor Seeks Horse is a special vineyard in the cold and stormy Huon Valley, once covered in apple trees, at the southeastern end of Tasmania. The turbulent climate in Australia’s southernmost municipality and coolest wine region has kept yields drastically low for a number of recent years. But, the fruit that survives ripens deep into autumn, with harvest typically occurring in early May, and yields moderate alcohol and intense purity.

[ID: Paul and Gilli Lipscombe sit in the bed of a truck parked amongst their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines on their Huon Valley, Tasmania property.]

A handwritten note posted on a bulletin board at the Red Velvet Lounge in Cygnet, Paul & Gilli’s local coffee spot, gave them their vineyard’s name. The note explains that the author had sailed solo around the world and ridden across the US from coast to coast and back again - on a mule. He’d then decided he wanted to travel around Tasmania by horse but didn’t have one. So, the author wanted to know - will anyone lend him one? If not, a pony would do. This idea resonated with Paul and Gilli. They loved the idea of not being pigeon-holed in life, and accomplishing goals even if they’re seemingly crazy, even if at first you don’t have all the tools you need, even if your vineyard is one of the southernmost in the entire world.

[ID: A photo of a handwritten note reading “Sailor Seeks Horse” in bold, large font, which Paul and Gilli discovered at a local watering hole and inspired them to name their winery after the note.]

Paul and Gilli were told, after purchasing the vineyard, that this site was “the greatest viticultural challenge I have ever seen” by a viticultural liaison officer, which made their hearts skip a beat, but then he followed with “if it was anywhere else, you wouldn’t bother - but this site is definitely worth it.” They believed in the good slope of the vineyard and the Huon valley to create the perfect climate for Chardonnay and Pin by @auswinelegends

New wines from Syrahmi are rolling in! đŸȘšđŸȘšđŸȘš

Adam Foster, owner and winemaker at Syrahmi, has been obsessed with Shiraz for over two decades. A former chef, he hung up his apron to explore this well-loved grape, studying under famed Syrah vignerons in both France and Australia in alternating harvests for years. Now, his home is in the breathtaking Tooborac Ranges at the southern end of the Heathcote GI in Victoria, where he works with organic growers as well as fostering his own high density estate vineyard.

For the first time, Syrahmi’s Home Block High Density Shiraz will now be available in the US! The vineyard is planted with only 75cm between vines, and the Home Block vineyard is currently the most southerly, high altitude, and densely planted vineyard in all of Heathcote. We also are hyped to release the next vintage of Syrahmi’s annual Shiraz from Carl Brown’s Organic Alanbrae vineyard in Colbinabbin. The 2021 vintage is named both for the stunning quality of the vintage, and after what we can all agree is one of the best songs in the history of the universe: Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime.”

Check out the slides to see the unbelievably huge boulders that surround the gorgeous vineyard in Tooborac, and click the link in bio to read more about Syrahmi and Adam Foster.

Next, a photo of the densely planted vineyard at 400m elevation, followed by another photo of Shiraz grapes in winemaker Adam Foster’s hand. The Chalmers Bush Vine Block has arrived!! đŸ’„â

Boundary-pushing wines from @chalmerswine just landed this week!

We are thrilled about these two brand new wines to the US from Chalmers’ Bush Vine project – Inzolia and Negroamaro from the Merbein estate vineyard in Murray Darling.

This project is part of the multi-generational research work that the Chalmers family has fostered through their Chalmers Grapevine Nursery and Vineyard. This block of Inzolia and Negroamaro planted on red sandy soils in sun-swept big sky territory is performing better than planned, and in the winery Bart has crafted detailed wines of freshness and concentration. Though, isn’t that the Chalmers signature already!?

The bush vine training is a nod to the historical cultivation of these varieties and helps the vines capture as much natural rainfall as possible, thus making the vines more drought resistant. This is the type of incredible work happening at Chalmers in their vineyards and nurseries. We cannot wait to share these wines with you! A very small allocation is here so as they say in Australia – First In, Best Dressed!

We are so looking forward to our upcoming Sausage Sizzle event with @PLAYTEkitchen and @decantnapavalley. But first, what is a Sausage Sizzle?

It’s a casual cookout and get-together with a simple yet delicious preparation of a sausage, or a “snag” if you will. Bunnings, a very popular Australian hardware and garden store, turned them into weekly fundraisers for their local communities across every location. They raised a staggering $67 million AUD last year.

In that spirit, we are joined by two besties for Tuesday’s sizzle: @the.vinguard and Field Blends by @maryamandcompany! Thanks for the inspiration, @bunnings.

Check out the link in our bio RSVP for a Cali-style sizzle at Decant Napa on 7/28/26 with PLATYE on the grill.

📣We’re having a Sausage Sizzle!Â đŸ€”What is Sausage Sizzle?

It’s an Aussie tradition; a casual cookout held in public places to raise money for charities, schools, children’s sports and so on. It’s barebones usually - a grilled sausage, lovingly called a “snag," white bread and tomato sauce (actually ketchup).

When Jane Lopes and Jonathan Ross founded Legend 6yrs ago, they set out to not only import Australian wine but a bit of Australian culture too.

Tuesday 7/28 @ 5pm
