築140年の豪商邸宅で過ごす瀬戸内海の旅

Azumi Setodaはかつて瀬戸田で製塩業や海運業で栄えた豪商・堀内家の邸宅を受け継いで誕生しました。築140年におよぶ貴重な建築意匠を継承しつつ、客室は現代的なくつろぎの空間に設計。お食事は瀬戸内の野菜を主役に、フレンチ料理を堀内家御当主から受け継いだ器と共に提供いたします。邸宅に招かれたような特別な時間をぜひご体感ください。

Azumi Setoda is the reinspired family estate of the Horiuchi family, a prominent lineage of affluent merchants who had thrived in the salt production and shipping sectors in Setoda. Embracing the legacy of the 140-year-old structure, the residence retains its precious architectural essence, while the guest rooms have been thoughtfully fashioned into contemporary and soothing spaces. The dining experience is centered around French cuisine crafted from the finest Setouchi ingredients, presented on tableware that has been passed down through generations of the Horiuchi family.

檜の湯船に湯を張って、坪庭を眺める。
外はまだ明るく、障子越しにやわらかな光が入ってきます。
予定を詰めずに、部屋で過ごす午後があってもいいかもしれません。

Fill the cypress tub and look out at the garden.
It's still light out, and the sun comes in soft through the shoji.
Not every afternoon needs a plan. Some are best spent right here.

昼下がり、宿を出て商店街へ。
昔ながらの店、レモンのお菓子、路地の先のお寺。
気になった場所に、ふらりと立ち寄る。
宿を一歩出たところに、島の暮らしがあります。

Early afternoon, step out of Azumi Setoda onto the old shopping street.
Old shops, lemon sweets, a temple at the end of the lane.
Wander into whatever catches your eye.
Island life starts one step outside the door.

隣の島、大三島でつくられているワインです。かつてみかん畑だった土地の記憶を、グラスの中に感じます。醸造所を訪ねると、その美味しさの秘訣を教えてくれます。
