I gathered 20 of my friends to facilitate my first public SUCO Session on Saturday. It was a night I will not soon forget.

The session went by in the blink of an eye, and I still smile every time I think about the sound of an entire rooftop stomping in unison. Grateful to each and every one of them for putting their trust in me and for creating a safe space for me to share this incredible practice.

If you’re in Chicago and want in on the next one, drop a 🩵 below.

Chicago, meet @sucosessions, a guided ritual of movement, breathwork, visualisation, and electronic music - designed to move you out of disconnection and into presence, joy, and vitality.

I discovered SUCO years ago in Barcelona during a team-building exercise and I was hooked before the session even ended. No experience or flexibility required. Just a willingness to move and feel.

I’ve spent the five months since studying it formally, and now I’m bringing it home to Chicago.

Our first Chicago session: September 26th at Three Cities Social. Free for members, open to the public. DM me and I’ll send you the link. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @baslerina

Friends! I am over the moon to present the global phenomenon SUCO publicly for the first time in Chicago.

SUCO is a movement-based meditation practice designed to help you (re)connect through breath, motion, and joy.

Instead of stillness, SUCO uses shaking, dancing, and guided movement, to access deeper presence and connection.

September 26th at Three Cities Social. Tickets at the link in my bio!

Headphones on. Mind off.

We’re more connected than ever and lonelier than ever. SUCO is the reset: a guided ritual of movement, breathwork, visualization, and electronic music that moves you out of your head and back into your body, in a room full of people doing the same thing.

No skills required. No back row. Just show up as you are.

📍 Three Cities Social, River North
🗓️ Saturday, Sept 26 · 10:30AM

Does anyone else’s creative process feel like an emotional rollercoaster?

It’s always the same for me: freak out about the size of the task, watch some things start to click, then watch my perfectionist brain panic about the project all over again.

I remember working on a speech and absolutely freaking out to my friend @paigeoz about how much I still had to do before the big day. She just looked at me, so calm, and said: “Lauren, you’ll figure it out. Just like you always do.”

And she’s right. It always comes together in the end.

But gosh, wouldn’t it be nice to prep for something creative without all the noise? Probably… but I’m not entirely sure it’d be the same story without it. by @baslerina

I’m a fraidy cat.

Almost everyone who’s watched me climb or seen me speak on stage is surprised to hear that. They assume the fear isn’t there... but it always is. I just tend to do the damn thing afraid. taken in Courage by @baslerina

I’ve been doing active meditation consistently (daily, with a few exceptions) for the past 3+ months and it has honestly changed my life.

As a recovering nervous nelly, this practice has taught me to elect the present and actually connect with it, both during meditation and in daily life. And damn, if that just isn’t where the magic lies.

This practice has made me incredibly aware of my tendency to numb and distract when avoiding discomfort (as a single gal, that’s often looked like scrolling and swiping on my little distraction screen whenever I’ve felt a bit lonely).

But numbing and distracting rob us of both the discomfort AND the lesson in it. So I’m done numbing. Time to feel all of it.

I’ve had a lot of morning routines. None have ever made me this excited to get out of bed.

This week I officially became a SUCO facilitator and I am beyond excited to share this powerful practice with Chicago. Get readyyyyy! by @baslerina

There’s a lot to be grateful for this year. Primarily: people.

I’m grateful for the friendships that survived a transatlantic move. The ones that still feel close despite a seven-hour time difference and the absence of spontaneous hangs. Many of our interactions moved to a screen this year, but the love wasn’t lost. For that, I’m deeply grateful.

I’m grateful for the new friendships that gave me a true sense of belonging in my new city. To the people in Chicago who saw my particular brand of weird and thought, “yeah, I’d like to spend time with that.” FWIW, I also love your brand of weird.

And I’m grateful for my family. After eight years of living far away, time spent nearby feels like an extra gift. The random Tuesday evenings. The planned Sundays. Being able to see them more regularly is something I don’t take for granted.

Home, it seems, will always be about the people.
