I left Mexico 25 yrs ago. I was only 12 when I moved to this country, but the culture remains engraved in my heart and soul.

I spent the last 8 days in my home town and I took sometime to fulfill my dream of seeing myself and my kids embracing my roots.

Every time I see someone dressed as escaramuza, charro or dancing folkloriko, I feel chills down my spine. It was my dream to do any of those things as a little girl.

After so many years, I’m stuck somewhere between not being American enough here and not Mexican enough there.

But I love, respect and appreciate both countries for different reasons. Mexico made me and shaped me, and the USA has offered opportunities that could only become possible here.

But that little small town girl, takes the Mexican pride wherever she goes 🌵

I’m beyond grateful to @yessicapaolaphotography for making my dreams come to life.

If you’re in Los Altos, she’s your girl. AND, just because she’s THAT girl… she also travels to the USA for work. I came across her work because she did my nephew’s wedding last year here in the IE and her work, talent and creative eye are immaculate. 📸

Taking life a little slower lately to enjoy these two.

Can you believe we only have 18 summers with our kids? That’s assuming they still want to spend it with us in their teenage years 😅

Hence why we’ve made a conscious effort to stop the hustle and bustle of the city and get away to @amorbonito_desertvilla to make summer memories with them 🏜️

May this find you and serve you as a sign to stop, breath and be present for your kids this summer.

TE QUIERO MEXICO 🇲🇽

Our 3 day trip to Puebla was amazing and a much needed break for this two mamas! First time EVER doing a trip with just my sister and it was such a beautiful and unique experience.

Puebla was everything I imagined and MORE. The food was delicious, the buildings breath taking and of course this sense of “belonging” that you get no where else on planet earth.

Mexico will always have a piece of me, ♥️🇲🇽
