THE PROCESS 👰🏻‍♀️

Anaissa and I clicked since they one and she made me feel at peace and at home when I was around her. 🙏🏼

On the wedding day, (naive me) decided to wear a new pair of shoes that were killing me by the second client (and I was doing 5) so I asked if it was ok to take off my shoes for the rest of the day and she said …. “Please go ahead”… so before the internet comes at me because I’m shoeless on the video … let me clarify I asked 🤣🤣

The things we go through sometimes while working are kinda wild. And we stay quiet most of the time and keep working like we are not in pain 🙅🏻‍♀️

If you have a coordinador or wedding planner, they will give you a “ready by time”.

Your glam team (and your glam team only) knows how long it takes them to complete their job. So based on the “ready by time” provided, we will work backwards and creative a tentative timeline for your day to run smoothly.

If there’s no coordinator or event planner, your photographers/videographers arrival time to your “getting ready location” should be the glam team end time. Ideally, you don’t want these to overlap that way you have a relaxed morning with enough cushion time to take pictures with your bridesmaids/mom.

On wedding days, things can happen and professionals can and should be able to work under pressure and we will work around anything and everything but keeping in mind the little things can help you with the overall outcome of the big things 🤍

I left Mexico 25 yrs ago. I was only 12 when I moved to this country, but the culture remains engraved in my heart and soul.

I spent the last 8 days in my home town and I took sometime to fulfill my dream of seeing myself and my kids embracing my roots.

Every time I see someone dressed as escaramuza, charro or dancing folkloriko, I feel chills down my spine. It was my dream to do any of those things as a little girl.

After so many years, I’m stuck somewhere between not being American enough here and not Mexican enough there.

But I love, respect and appreciate both countries for different reasons. Mexico made me and shaped me, and the USA has offered opportunities that could only become possible here.

But that little small town girl, takes the Mexican pride wherever she goes 🌵

I’m beyond grateful to @yessicapaolaphotography for making my dreams come to life.

If you’re in Los Altos, she’s your girl. AND, just because she’s THAT girl… she also travels to the USA for work. I came across her work because she did my nephew’s wedding last year here in the IE and her work, talent and creative eye are immaculate. 📸

The glam + the pre-shoot XV pictures 📸

Most young girls are not used to seeing them selves with a full face of makeup. The XV pre-shoot is usually a great way to kill two birds with one stone. They get to experiment the look before they commit to a final look for the actual day.

A trial/preview for a XV girl if you will. Are they necessary on my end? Absolutely not.

But if you need one, and are looking for a “perfect” day to do it.. this is your sign. You get to see the complete vision together and it’s easier (sometimes) for them to warm up to a full face seeing how it’s going to flow perfectly with their huge gown, huge crown, jewelry and professionally done hair.

My sweet bride introduced me to this combo and I can’t let it go now. 🤩🤩

As beautiful as a red lip is, it could be a lot of commitment on the actual wedding day. Specially if you’re the bride being photographed ALL DAY.

You’ll eat, drink, (and kiss the hubby) 💋
And red is very telling. Even a matte liquid lipstick runs the risk because let’s be honest. Food could have oil and oils melt makeup.

Even the strongest of lipsticks isn’t bullet proof. Is it doable? Of course! Just something to keep in mind for the maintance afterwards.

Why are we acting shocked about prices on the actual day of the event?

I’ve always managed my prices with full transparency. They’re on my website to see. After your initial inquiry, I re-direct you to my website that includes all prices and policies.

There’s NEVER hidden fees or extra costs for anything. My prices are simple and to the point. You know how much you’re spending BEFORE you commit.

After you send your deposit to lock in the date and time, I send you an invoice with the breakdown of everything. No surprises.

Hence why I don’t understand uncomfortable comments made out loud for everyone to hear of how “expensive” the service is OR even worse sound shocked about the total.

As a professional, I don’t like discussing prices out loud. Not because I’m embarrassed, because I know I charge my worth. But because sometimes comments are made and it honestly makes the glam team uncomfortable.

Just a post to vent because only I know what I go through behind the scenes 😅😅

Just the basics. Help me help you.

If you know I’m heading to a place that has little to NO PARKING, please leave a spot for me 🙏
I promise I’m not a DIVA and I don’t mind doing what I have to do to get to you.

Often times when we work at hotels, we have to park at the parking structure and carry our kit all through the hotel sometimes 15-20 min just to get to the room and that’s totally fine.

But if there’s no parking at a residential area, a spot for me is highly appreciated. We are often times working under pressure with a strict timeline to follow and we can’t be stopped every so often to move our car.

Those are minutes that add up and will cause us to fall behind. I always plan accordingly, and leave a little cushion time but it’s always best to be safe 🛟
