🌝Having photos taken in the summer by Yana was such a beautiful experience. Feeling powerful, beautiful, and strong in our own skin, on our own terms, can be a deeply healing experience for women. Our bodies are sacred temples that deserve to be honored.

This experience helped me in my process of fully claiming and embodying my role here on earth. Which is still ongoing and ever evolving.
But even as I still stand in the void, with many uncertainties around, I feel a deep sense of knowing and trusting. A deep sense of support from the women around me, the plant spirits, and the powerful feminine energy awakening on this planet, supporting us all.
So consider this a declaration and a call for accountability. If you ever see me shrinking or not living in my power, help me up and I’ll do the same for you. 💕🔥✨

The path of sovereignty and liberation for yourself and all beings can be quite bumpy at times.
I am here to offer support and love. More to come. 🌸💫

Feeling so grateful from all the support for the official Ribbon Cutting Celebration for HeartBloom!

Stewarding this space has felt like the biggest gift and to be able to share my essence through it and have it be received is just… 🥹

My dream is for this to be a place where people can tap into their true essence. To really feel it in their bodies.
These practices, tools, allies, and more have given me that and it is why I love to share them. 💖

Last night we hosted the 3rd Annual Death Over Dinner at @beekindcatering!

Each year it sells out and it has quickly turned into a community ritual that folks have come to expect. ♥️
We explored questions regarding our ancestry, our connection to the other side, how loss has shaped us, and our future as ancestors.

These questions were posed over a carefully crafted four-course seasonal meal. Brandy of @beekindcatering is a true kitchen witch 😉

I am continually blown away by the energy that ripples out from an ancestor altar in particular.
It buzzes with life and the flow of reciprocal energy creates more life force.

Tears, laughter, hugs, and real connection were shared.
It’s really a simple formula:
Relationship with ourselves, our community, our food, and our ancestry bring people fully ALIVE.

Eternally grateful for this community. ♥️

The Dunsmuir River Clean-Up was a beautiful success! A group of us in town revived this tradition as a way to tend to our river with attention and love.

About 60 folks gathered and collected over 580 lbs of trash!! 😳🙏🏼
It was so gorgeous to see everyone connecting with community and with the sacred water we are in relationship with. Many were commenting on the impact it makes to CREATE and take ACTION on something tangible in your own community. This is where our power lives.

Thank you to the Dunsmuir Rotary and the @dunsmuirchamber and CalTrout for the support!
Thank you to the pizza factory, @beekindcatering and @tootsiesbreakfastspot for providing us with nourishment!
Thank you to the @siskiyoulandtrust for sending volunteers and to the crew of folks who gave their time and love before and during the event to pull this off. 🙂

The World Water Day community screening of @waterislove.film at @beekindcatering was so beautiful! 💙🫶🏻

It was truly a seed moment for our town to lean into a new story, one where we are in deep relationship to our river, each other, and the regenerative power of water.💙
Folks expressed their pride in this place and the desire to engage more with the honor it is to steward water.

We had a water altar and people shared their intentions & prayers.

& already so much is flowing together!

People are feeling the call, worldwide, to connect with water and see the power she holds.

I am so excited to see what grows from this. 🌞

& I am so grateful for all who attended and to our supporters!

Calling all water keepers 💧

This Saturday, the 22nd, for World Water Day, I am hosting a screening of @waterislove.film at @beekindcatering !

The intention for this event is to create a vessel for deepening our relationship to the water here.
Beyond gathering information, its about creating the space to be in deep relationship with the element we all come from.
From that place, we are able to move in the ways water needs and asks of us.

This film speaks to the regenerative power of water and our ability to co-create SOLUTIONS with her.

Later today we gather for the Becoming A Death Doula workshop!

& As I continue to put the final touches on what I plan to share, I am reflecting on how much courage it takes to do this work.

We are asked to show up and awaken others from collective amnesia, figure out how to make it a business, and educate those around us amid stigma and fear.

Death work, in these times, is for the courageous.

The truth is that the easy part is taking a training.

The real work begins when no one has ever heard of what you do.

When no one shows up to your events.

When people don’t see the value in your services until it’s too late.

Will we give up…?

I have seen many stop here. Or stop before they even start.

My hope with this event is that through creating collective support in this realm, we can find the courage and fortitude to dream up creative solutions.

To stay committed to the assignment.

We can’t do this work alone, which is why I created this workshop.

I am also seeking more connections to others in this realm. ❤️

And as a reminder: you don’t have to create a business to get involved.

If there is even one tiny part of you curious about this work, I’d love to have you join.

It usually starts as a curious tap, and then it grows.

We gather today, and then access to this resource will increase in price a bit.

The night this photo was taken, I received the very clear assignment for this work. (..I look like such a baby here 😭)

I had never heard of a death doula before, but it found me.

I resisted it a bit. Talked myself out of it a few times.

I moved slow for an entire year to explore this realm before I felt ready to take a training.

& the moment I said yes… I was plunged in.

Reflecting back on that time, I would share with myself (and you!) a few things to remember:

1️⃣Everyone will assume you’re an expert in every facet of death care.

Don’t let this intimidate you or stop you from beginning. The main thing people are really looking for is someone to stay with them through uncertainty.

2️⃣People will forget THEY are the expert of their own experience.

I am always guiding folks back to this truth. They often feel they are moving through it “incorrectly” and forget the wisdom they already carry.

3️⃣ The gap in education is massive!

Many folks still believe that if they accept help from Hospice at the end of life, it will kill them. 😳

4️⃣We have to build and grieve simultaneously.

As death workers, we are asked to create new systems of care while also grieving the fact that so many people have been dropped by society. Its a big task.

5️⃣There is SO much room for growth and creativity— you don’t have to do it like anyone else!

Art, movement, storytelling, logistics, advocacy, systems creation - you name it, it’s needed.

I’ll be sharing SO much more on all of this in my upcoming workshop on Tuesday. Replay is included if you can’t join live. :)

1. I make the CHOICE to show up in my local community and create/contribute something that is solution-based.
2. Lean into communal gathering and witnessing to ACTUALLY ALCHEMIZE these experiences through my body & psyche.
3. Dig into skill building for navigating these times well-resourced.

Yesterday, I had someone in my town ask me if death doulas also support in times of collective death/fear/grief… & I would argue that is one of the main reasons for this work at this time. ‼️

Death work is about standing in the face of uncertainty/upheaval, strong emotional reactions, division & confusion…

Unshakable.
Steady.
Willing to lean in.

We all spend so much time online seeing the atrocities in the world but how much time are we spending together to move it through the body? To listen to our hearts and be seen in our humanity?

How much time are we taking to gather in our communities and dream up solutions? 👀

If you’ve been craving a space to unplug from the fear that’s being pumped into the air, I encourage you to check out my upcoming workshop.

It is for ANYONE who wants to build the skills and resources to show up for their community amidst uncertainty.

Death work IS community work & it’s coming for us all.

SO many are feeling the mysterious tap on the shoulder to remember that death is sacred. & so many don’t know where to start for ACTUALLY showing up in their families and communities.

It can be confusing because receiving this tap on the shoulder doesn’t always mean you’ll start a business.
& if you do want that, the path to working in the death space is not clearly defined.

The truth is that this work can take many shapes. Either professionally or within your personal relationships.

Wherever you are, here are three things you can do to begin embodying this wisdom:
1. Consider your legacy. One day when you’re gone, how do you want to be remembered?
2. Ask one person in your life if they have a plan for end-of-life.
3. Map out your web of support if you were faced with a crisis / sudden loss. Who would show up & how?

When we contemplate these scenarios and communicate them to loved ones, we increase spaciousness within us to meet those moments.

We can decrease the shock and impact by reweaving conscious awareness into this part of our lived experience.

In my upcoming workshop, we’ll be diving into the ways you can be a leader in your families and communities around death (professionally or not).

Celebrating another year of life on a day for honoring the dead. 💃

Honoring this line between life and death is the very thing that makes me feel fully alive.

We are ALL meant to traverse this line, regularly.

It keeps us from numbing out to our experience here.

I’ve never been the type of person who talks about wanting to opt out of the human experience or life here on earth. I’m determined to live my life FULL OUT, all the way to the end.

I’ve witnessed folks face the regret from not doing that once they’re about to cross over death’s threshold and it’s a type of suffering I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

If it’s been a while since you pondered your own mortality…put down the screen and go outside and look at something that is dying.

Feel into the constant cycle of death and rebirth always playing out around us.

Let yourself reallllly feel it. All the way into your heart.
Remember that you’re not unique. You won’t make it out alive.
Thank your ancestors, they lived and died for you.

& then notice what it feels like to be in a human body. How sweet the experience is. How precious it is to get to love, to express, to experience this life.

Walk the line between life and death and watch yourself come alive.
