Artist Spotlight | MReAL Exhibition on VRChat, 2026 Summer
What kind of future does the Museum of Alt. Futures invite us to enter?

— Bernard Masika
The Stories of Uchale began as an argument with the present: a century that emits more carbon than it consumes, fells thousand-year trees by machine in an afternoon, and drowns the sea’s life under the same “efficiency” that promised to save us, lately even sinking its data centres into the ocean, because data has become the breath of humans. The work answers with an inversion: a far future in which technology has surrendered to biology.

Opening: 15 July 2026, 8:00 PM HKT / GMT+8
Online on Zoom and VRChat Artist Talks + Live Walkthrough
Exhibition available on VRChat from 15 July 2026

JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T SEE! An art exhibition by @seedexr where technology meets story telling to bring about environmental awareness, specifically marine life.

Got to virtually see all that is happening in our beaches and oceans. Thanks to these great innovators, people can see the world as it is and opt for better solutions and changing our ways!

Thank you @seedexr @alexgmkwizu @freddybaracka @bernard_masika to making the future better!

Jana watu wa @seedexr walifanya jaribio la kunitenganisha na jirani yangu.

Nilipata nafasi ya kuattend maonesho yao na nikiwa honest experience ilikuwa 10/10.

Ila watu wa Dar mna siri sana ….. taken in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania by @bernard_masika

I spent most of last year studying Arts and Curation at @nafasiacademy

Undoubtedly, curation is one of the most underrated skills, yet demanded, or rather needed, every day, in our events, at home, etc.

There might be a lot of people who are curators without knowing, but like any other discipline, it has its principles, its rules of thumb, and doing it intentionally multiplies the impact.

In simple terms, a curator is someone who safeguards, interprets, and mediates work, through research and vision, so it reaches people meaningfully.

What I liked most about the programme is that every instructor was an active, working curator in the Tanzanian art industry and outside it, hearing it from the experience itself. Kudos to the academy on this.

I'm currently experimenting with how best to incorporate XR into curation in Tanzania. Let's see how it goes. by @bernard_masika

#LagosGameWeek2025
Fun fact: I almost didn’t apply to participate.

It all started with Echoes Game Jam, brought by @goetheinstitut_nigeria & @africacomicade
Echoes invited creatives across Africa to turn archives into interactive experiences blending history, technology, and storytelling.
A space to reimagine the past and prototype the future through games.

Two weeks. One diverse team from four countries. A few late nights... the rest is history.

🎮 @cradle_mr — our mixed reality experience — won Best Immersive Tech 🏆

Then came Lagos Game Week: I met some of my teammates in real life for the first time. Visited several African game studios, got blown away, inspired, and connected even more. It was profound.

The game will now be installed at the National Museum, Lagos, and soon, we hope to adapt Cradle MR for museums across Africa.

Because African stories deserve to be felt, not just told. ✊🏾✨

👉 Game demo on the last slide!
