Dancing as a cloud beneath a giant papier mache sculpture depicting Âu Cơ, a mythological fairy who gave birth to Vietnam through a brief relationship with a dragon named Lac Long Quan.

Para Site is thrilled to present ‘Empty Set’, a solo exhibition by Pratchaya Phinthong.

Phinthong’s first institutional solo exhibition in Hong Kong, The exhibition uses the ‘empty set’ (∅)—an absence with defined boundaries yet containing no elements—as a guiding concept and a conceptual placeholder for ideas and discussions outside of rigid knowledge structures. ‘Empty Set’ creates a place for new possibilities, a literal opening of the exhibition space to the outside world. Walls, windows and other thresholds become elements of an experiential montage, edited into interventions that dissolve the fourth wall of the gallery and expose it to realities beyond.

‘Empty Set’ is curated by Billy Tang.

Para Site榮幸呈獻藝術家Pratchaya Phinthong的個展「空徑」。

作為Phinthong在香港首個機構個展，展覽以「空集」（∅）——一個邊界明確卻不含實質的虛無狀態 ——作為核心概念，為僵化知識結構之外的思辯提供概念性載體。「空徑」將開闢蘊育新可能的場所，讓展覽空間真正對外部環境開啟。牆體、窗戶與其他阈限元素，皆成為體驗式蒙太奇的組成部分，經重構轉化為介入性裝置，消解展場的第四面牆，使其直面外界現實。

「空徑」由曾明俊策劃。

Big love to the community of supporters who rallied behind @parasite.hk for our Annual Benefit Gala. It means so much to have this level of support. The encouragement that this gives to our team cannot be understated, it was a heartwarming evening to share with everybody. We can’t wait to continue sharing with everyone the programme of projects we have been working on for the last few years.

A big thank you to @alan999 for always being there, always making time for us. This year we also started a committee led by @yuki_terase & @addyooi to up our gala game to the next level. Thank you to our board. Huge credit goes to @daytimeartclub @kellychan.x @lynxxlxx for bossing it. Also to @mikihuu @yuenyukl @lookstefan @jan_ywc for working on an amazing auction preview exhibition across two locations.

Recent events as part of Offerings for Escalante by Enzo Camacho & Ami Lien @uncoercive_ . Going beyond the exhibition and taking the form of 1) live score to langit lupa - a newly commissioned film 2) audio visual performance 3) speeches (as part of a mutual aid event) 4) public gatherings 5) potluck 6) paper making workshops for folks from a migrant shelter. Proud to share with everybody that Para Site has named me their next ED and Curator. What an act to follow after a hugely influential decade of growth and groundbreaking initiatives led by outgoing director @cosmincostinas.

Para Site has been a source of inspiration for me throughout my development as a practitioner, and I’m very humbled to have this opportunity. What has constantly been on my mind is Para Site’s ability to continually shape-shift in tandem with changing times. It has led to a rich polyphony of exhibitions created by so many great curators and artists who have all contributed to what it is today. Looking forward to continuing this work of creating a platform for support and solidarity with practitioners in Hong Kong and beyond.

Lastly, I also wanted to say a big thank you to my family for their love and support. Last year, I was preparing an exhibition and decided to travel to Hong Kong - quarantine and all. Those two weeks in isolation somehow brought me back to reflecting how a few decades earlier, my parents had arrived in the same city as refugees, but under vastly different circumstances. This diasporic journey that connects me to them is a very humble reminder to keep pushing for support, care, and progressive change in the work we do.

Looking forward to working with the team at Para Site. I’m also very grateful to my colleagues at Rockbund Art Museum for working together in the last few years. Extremely grateful also to @alan999 @mimi_chun and the rest of the board for the trust and support to start this new chapter together.
